Agree! Stores in my country only have sections for gender and age (kids + adults). They won’t even have a formal type dress but we’re not big on formal occasions. Probably because there is a smaller population, so smaller stores less clothes

I am from Canada and now I live in the UK. The thrift shops are a lot bigger in Canada but honestly I prefer charity shops. The quality is better and while they're smaller, there are a lot more charity shops than there are thrift shops.

Fun fact: my best friend and I went to prom together, so we found both of our dresses (they were the same style, but different colour) at a thrift shop for 2$ each. They were both the perfect size and everything

I actually got my prom dress from Goodwill and it was only $4 and it was BEAUTIFUL I did have to dry clean it to get wrinkles out but that's all. I absolutely adored my prom dress and got so many compliments on it💜

I love going to thrift stores! I mostly go to look for vinyl records (most of the time at places like Goodwill, all you find is junk that's just thrown in a corner, but sometimes you can get very lucky, like when I found a copy of Led Zeppelin II for 50 cents!) but I like looking through the clothes too. You do really have to be careful and inspect the clothes, though, to make sure that it's not worn out, damaged, or stained.

I got my senior prom dress at Nordstrom Rack (not sure if those are in Canada or not) for $50 and it was a bit big in the bust but my mom was able to hem it and take it in for me. I still love that dress. It's a dark teal color with gathering at the bust (like the light pink one) and slightly flows away. Also those onion rings look delicious! :D

I live in a town where the nearest store is a grocery store and fast ffod places. The nearest thrift shops like Goodwill is a 30 mile drive. So for me during my junior and senior prom, I bought my dresses at yard sales for $5 to $10. Of course I bought 2 or three. The following summer or year i resold them for $5.

I honestly thought that pink/blush colored one was the same as the dress I wore to my school Formal (Australian Prom), except my dress had a v neck dip in the middle of the sweetheart neck, and it had crystals on the mesh on the chest. My dress wasn't see-through though, and it was about $20 brand new from Ally... I also bought another $20 dress from Ally, a light blue strapless sweetheart, and another cheap dress from Savers that was a light green dress that came as a bodice and skirt, with embroidery on the bodice. The fourth dress I bought was off ebay, and it didn't arrive until after Formal, but it was a strapless sweetheart sheath dress in silver with crystal detailing at the waist. The only problem with that one (other than it not showing up in time) was that it was WAY too long for me (which isn't surprising considering I'm 5'1"). I also bought the heels I wore to formal from Savers. The reason I bought four dresses, was because I didn't know which one I was going to pick to wear to Formal, and I ultimately picked the pink one because I liked it the best, and because it matched my date (my best friend who invited me to Formal because I dropped out the year before).
