This took me right back kim to Christmas's long ago, I always remember trying to stick them up with drawing pins and it would hurt your thumb and then come July you would still find drawing pins in the ceiling, loved buying them with my mum and putting them up everywhere, happy memories ❤

Just love a good rootle through a charity shop! Sometimes I find loads, other times nothing but think that's the joy, never knowing what you're going to find. I also love tacky vintage decorations, rest assured, that are plenty of us fellow 'plot losers' who love your wackyness 😂 x

I made dozens of those cross-stitch ornaments back in the 80’s & gave them to my family & friends, and I’m such a nitwit I forgot to keep one for myself! I have spent years collecting vintage 1940’s/50’s/60’s Christmas decor and use it in my living room! This has been a really tough day…I lost my precious little 15 yr old Shih Tzu, Lulu, and I’ve been crying since. But once again, you made me smile! Thank you! 🎄❄️❤️

I've still got decorations from 47 years ago bought when my eldest daughter had her first Christmas. I didn't have a fairy for the tree so I bought a 5inch doll and dressed her in a white crepe paper frock and some thin tinsel for a halo with crepe wings ,I still have her along with the Dickens style lamps tree lights (they still work) . Bought at Woolies.

Oh Kim. My dad was the King of tacky Christmas decorations. He loved them. They all went up on 1st December. This just took me back to those days. Lost him 20 years, ago so thanks for the memories.

I've still got two WOOLIES tree ornaments from 1976 and 1978 a red satin guardman and a red satin hobby horse I bought for my two eldest kids first Xmas ' s . I just have to put them on the tree each year . X

Your gold tree 🎄 looks really nice Kim. You could put some crepe paper around the base. Some nice red and green baubles would stand out on a gold tree, put some thin tinsel on it. You could buy some battery operated lights. B@M or the Range sell them. It will light up the gold.

I am a Yorkshire girl living in Liverpool for 20 years, i can tell you we get charity bags to put clothes in and leave on doorstep before 7am etc then found out illiegals are picking up the bags and selling it, also we have those weigh in cash for clothes honestly, living here has really opened my eyes up, unless you take it to the shop yourself, but the things they do cancer , children , i only just started watching your channel but i like you and you will do well just keep being you xx

Love the vintage decorations my husband insisted we put up every year the garlands and the foil hanging things that used to fall down in the heat or a sudden draft.my mum had them as well .I thought they were so much faffing about and out of date ,when my husband died 4 years ago I breathed a sigh of relief .the first year my kids still made me do it but hopefully I've weaned them off 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Hi Kim Loved your 'tacky' bits. I have little cross stitch ornaments that my Mum made years ago and stuff my children made in school and Brownies. It all goes on the tree every year. I might buy the occasional 'new ' thing but its very traditional. Hope we have a flat tour when you have your decs up!

Omg brought back great memories of old style decorations…..we always spent Christmas with my granny down the country (Ireland) and she had a white Christmas tree in the front room which we were not allowed into…she had 2 Santa boots hanging above the fire and she told us Santa had felt the fire was too hot so took his boots off….she had paper decorations and balloons on the ceiling…at home we had a small green tree with a nativity under it and my dad use to put one of the lights from the tree into the back of the nativity….paper decorations on the ceiling and if room got too hot they would fall on your head…..thanks for bringing back great memories…..

I know exactly where you're coming from Kim I remember all the deccies we had in the sixties and I'd buy them too . Just been in charity shops in my area and picked up 2 summer dresses for 99p each and a Christmas jumper with big santa face on the front for 99p and a lovely jumper that looks very 70s also for 99p. Off again this week for more thrifting.xx

You make me laugh and happy i remember them decorations them were good days live the angels very cute your right we use to have them foil trimmings and had to be careful Incase they ripped balloons drawing pinned or blue tacked to the ceiling lol meat and two veg we called the balloons the laughs we had blowing them up lol 😂my grandad use to rub the balloons on his head and stick them to the wall with static god k wow how they coped with us as kids lol 😆 very good times buffets every night for two weeks at each other’s houses lol shops shut for two weeks get ya bread in lol 😆

What a blast from the past I can remember putting up those ceiling decorations when I was a child, we would have loads of balloons and when Christmas was over we would have great fun bursting them 😂. That poor little tree needs something on the bottom of it, can you put some material round it to cover the stand? 🎄🎈🔔xx
