Im 74 and my husband went to University on theGI Bill at 30 years of age. He did 21 hours a semester and did not took other courses during the spring summer, fall and Christmas breaks. He received 2 bachelors and 1 master degrees in 2 1/2 years and graduated Cum Laude. It can get a little tough but together you can do it. I worked full time and we had 3 kids. We put our trust in God and we made it…you can you!❤

Over the decades, I've grown to think that formal education isn't all it's cracked up to be, but when the govt makes good on a contract like the GI bill and takes care of its own - it's a beautiful thing. The table was definitely my favorite project. You were spot-on in shifting the color of the rattan portion to a shade less orange - and it turned out beautifully. Your technique with the candlesticks and lamp would be my runners up- though I likely would have painted them white to reinforce the classic Greek lines of each. I do understand, though, that you were demonstrating how to stretch your refinishing dollars and achieve a cohesive aesthetic. I think everything was successfully upcycled - but I see each item in VERY different types of homes. I wish my own local charity shop had such nice items available for sale! Thank you for all the wonderful ideas - as I type this I’m staring at 2 home refinishing projects of my own. I think that Liquid Leaf you showed may just do the trick for one of them!

My favorite of all is the bench, but I'd have to say it had competition with the lamp, the bowl, candlestands and pillow :) Really have enjoyed your vids recently as had gotten so tired of people always doing similar projects, but girl, you don't disappoint on doing such a wide variety of projects. My favorite is definitely the woven table. You have given me maybe a new thought process since I've always refurbished furniture. I'm now 64 and it's not as easy to haul furniture as it used to be. I do still repair and refurbish old wicker, which is my favorite. I'll have to get on some sites to see what's out there, style-wise and keep my eyes open at all the thrift stores I have within just a few miles. Thanks and best wishes on your new family situation.
