Thrifting at Goodwill-I Found a Thrift Wish List Item Haul June 2020

I have a heavy, vintage crystal ashtray that I use as a spoon rest in my kitchen. The grooves are perfect for the spoon handle and keeps it right in place. I have never smoked, but I love the old ashtrays. Some are truly works of art.

Oh wow that's a great use for an ashtray. Yeah I think they're pretty awesome too. I like the look of the old standing ashtrays on a pedestal that you could put beside a couch. I always thought they were cool looking.

Ha ha ha. When I saw it I thought 'that's got to be from the 70s!'. I remember there was a love of anything wooden or straw or country-ish. Also, macrame baskets were everywhere.

The most unusual thing was the log/horseshoe/candle holder. It never ceases to amaze me how people’s imagination works. Never would have thought of that!! Enjoyed your thrifting trip. I still haven’t been thrifting since the phase 1 of our lockdown. As things are slowly opening back up ,I’ll try to get back out there soon. Thanks for sharing!!!

....That cat rocking chair brought back memories ....I had a duck that I rocked into mamas buffet in the dining room and broke the mirror ....it was never replaced ..I have it now and plan to restore it...I’m going to put some tapestry pattern in the door instead of a mirror ..it has glass shelves and will be beautiful ......that was around 1945 ..I was three years old .

In the 2nd store I like the white tray except the fact that it had glass which I don't care for. The elephant was interesting also. In the first store I would have gotten the wax warmer next to the bottle you picked up depending om condition and price. As well as the watermelon bowl. For resales. Oh wow the tea infuser💞

If the green leaf ashtray matched your b.room decor you could use it for make up brush rest. I use a brush for foundation ( when I wear) application. Or for drying them after washing. I'd got it , pretended I had a use. Lol

as always, you made some interesting and useful purchases! hummm...i wonder if my cute little clear glass teapot i got thrifting had a infuser originally? i had no idea until you showed us the one you got. i got 4 small stainless steel bowls a few months back at a thrift store...you can't go wrong with stainless steel. you just can't wear it out! it will still be here long after i am gone! i use mine for a helping of those big red seedless grapes that are so abundant this year. i am so happy for you that you are making up for lost time during the virus shut down...i'm hoping to go soon, but we have had awfully hot weather here, with bad storms in the forecast for this evening, overnight, and through to tomorrow. did i remember to tell you that an eraser works well for removing those black wax pen marks from some porous surfaces, such as wood or ceramics? are your thrift stores using permanent black markers? oh brother! take care and hi to the crew! *:-)*

Nice haul Jessica! I especially love the tray. I saw quite a few Pier 1 items, kind of a shame that they are totally going out of business. I actually got some nice things from them over the years.....

Oh I know it's weird.. That store has been here forever. The Pier 1 headboard I thrifted for $25 was an awesome score. 👍👍👍 I'm sure it was at least $300 new at the store... Possibly more. 😲
