I agree with you on intentional purchases. A person can only display so much outside of seasonal displays (which are so fun). I love my Fortnum and Mason crocks but there is a limit. Sometimes I wish I could start over. You bought some great things, my favs are the State home's books and duck bookends! That sewing desk was fabulous and glad I wasn't there to buy it!🌞Fl.

Hi there! I bet you have a beautiful collection of crocks! There are some really pretty ones out there. Collections are a funny thing too because once you start it, everyone seems to flood you with new pieces. It can get overwhelming in a short amount of time. Maybe you can just rearrange/repurpose your collection, disperse it throughout your home and bring new life to it. I find that brings new joy to items I've maybe fallen out of love with but am not ready to let go of. 💡That sewing desk was great! It was still there on half price Saturday if you can believe that! Don't you think it's sad when family portraits are being sold? I've already told my children to please if they have an estate sale please take the family pictures out of the frames

Sometimes people don’t have families to Will their items. In those cases a conservator will hold an estate sale to clear out a house. Unfortunately, they don’t or can’t take pictures out of frames due to time. When I see something like that I always say a silent prayer wishing they had a peaceful journey to their eternal home.

I agree that it can be sad to see the family pictures but like @angelmelsen692 said maybe they didn't have family to tend to the pictures. It is also a lot for families to take on when they have their own keepsakes. Definitely food for thought.

Hi Lesa! It was so fun coming along with you to this estate sale. My anxiety prohibits me from going to something like this in person at this point in my life (yes- I'm weird but no point in my explaining my goofiness) The cash register and plant stand were my favorites. When you paused at the chamber pot (I think you're right) in that moment, I went "Don't!" 🤣 But I'm sure it would have been fine. Fancy though. Lol. I thought you'd buy the silver pedestal bowl. Hi Lesa I love estate sales so much so I love watching you go. We very seldom go til half price day. We have been going for so many years we tell people we don’t need anymore pretty things. I don’t sell anything. Now,my husband and I buy more useful things. Last year we bought a beautiful 2000 car in great condition. We normally don’t spend that much. We went to a 1930s four story house weekend before this . The house was full of everything. We got many things. I did not have a Spring wreath and got a big beautiful one. Do you have many in your area. We have lots . I don’t blame you for buying the duck head book ends …if you come back you know you would miss them. Take care..hope to see you again. ❤❤❤❤

The items you thought were dreidels are actually a type of yo-yos from the 60s. You wrap the string around the top and let it go and the pointed end that you picked it up by, is what spins on the floor

I love the books. I am curious, do you save the book covers? I have some beautiful books but hate removing covers because I don't want to store them.

Hi there! Great question! Oh those book covers are a hard one. I am 50/50 on keeping versus throwing them away. If the book is special or something I think I might want to pass on later then I keep the cover. Otherwise I go ahead and recycle it. I have a decorative box (those heavy cardboard floral ones you can get at Hobby Lobby) to organize and preserve the covers that I keep. I hope this helps answer your question.
