Value Village, surprisingly. I've found a lot of unique stuff there that I love. I know they don't have a lot of stores everywhere, but I'm positive they have affiliates that would work 😁😁

I love this idea- what’s hard about both is thinking you can match an outfit in one outing. It would be cool to see something come together over multiple shopping trips to thrift stores. Thrifting isn’t one and done, but it is cheaper, more environmentally and socially conscious!

Hunting down local branches of thrift stores would be really cool too, ones that aren’t tied to a larger company like Goodwill, Salvation Army, etc. There used to be a vintage (multiple eras) thrift store in Santa Rosa, CA. Unfortunately it could not survive during the pandemic, but there has to be a handful in LA!

I hope that in the next video we can provide more info on the importance of sustainability and the environment, bc your comparing two different spectrums where one is money saving and environmentally friendly and one is not the most ethical and marks a high carbon footprint. You can find what you want at forever 21 but 80% of the time it ends up at goodwill or ends up in the dump where undeveloped countries are dealing with out waste.

Like I'm at the point where I feel uneasy watching these videos because they're clearly doing it for the views and I feel really uncomfortable contributing to a culture that pollutes developing nations as well as our environment. Maybe it's just me.

@@mariannasargsian582 girlllll. Its not just you. I feel it's choosing good over evil. That's my opinion. I understand I guess the concept of what they were trying to do but I don't think it was thought well based off real world problems. Like we can live without forever 21 and replace them with goodwills or nothing at all. We don't even need that excessive amount clothes to be produced. Those people producing it to are in horrifying work environments with little to no pay.

It's not lost on me how they only take accountability when it threatens followers (thinking about how my green closet reacted to their green washing video and they vowed to do better). But this video... now amount of money or fast fashion sunglasses is worth exploiting people and the environment and I'm a bit off put by their ambivalence towards that.

Eh... Forever 21 is a store that always sells whatever is on trend (oftentimes by ripping off small artists) so of course you're going to have any easier time finding whatever's trending on Pinterest in a Forever 21. If you focus less on recreating an outfit you saw on Pinterest and more on just putting together a really hot outfit, I think it would have been a much better video, IMO. The only reason fast fashion is so cheap is because they are literally using slave labor and prison labor.

I think that they should focus on sustainability and especially on functionality. For example, they should find an outfit for a 'girls night'. Whoch store is better (more sustainable, cheap, less time to find etc)

Ok but most fast fashion stores refuse to pay their workers livable wages are are generally very exploitative and harmful environments. Regardless of money saved in the moment, it is definitely not worth both the long term environmental impact, as well as the violation of basic human rights.

Definitely love going to different Goodwills and other, more local thrift stores and hunting for amazing deals. I’ve found a lot of fun purses, like the Parcel radio one, which sells for about $50-80 and I got it for about $3. Going to different thrift stores within wealthy areas might be fun! Hunt them deals💰

Love Sinead and Drew and as always they are awesome. The concept of this video was flawed though and it made me feel awkward watching it. Are we supposed to be supporting good will because of ethics and that it's cheaper or are we going on what we wanna wear? Also (going from what I've gathered from Madeline) the bonus of good will seems to be going in and trying to create the best outfit you can with what's there. No hate on the presenters or the channel (loooooove both!) but think the concept needs tweaking.

You should try not just recreating an outfit but shopping for a look. For examle 'first meet with mother in law', theatre or festival look. So we can compare the stores in function and not just based on a picture

Fun fact H&M is technically not fast fashion or are moving away from it. They have bins to put old clothing in at their stores for them to reuse the fabric. They have sustainable options and soon they will be having more.

I think picking a theme or situation to create an outfit for would be a better test than trying to recreate an exact outfit. It's how most people actually shop. I'd like to see this challenge done to fit a vibe rather than a specific look.

I like the idea of this video. And honestly, I’m a goodwill psycho. My sister and I plan day trips to hit all of the “good” ones. I’ve found insane things. Our most recent trip to a Tampa Goodwill landed me a Saks 5th dress (tags still on) that originally retailed for $3k (swear to god) and I got it for $10. You have to be in the right mood and willing to search for the gems, but I promise you they are there! 95% of my wardrobe is from thrift stores and I get everyone from casual and pajamas to bomb work outfits.

Also keep in mind Goodwill prices vary drastically based on where in the country you are. The prices they listed in this video are way higher than any of the Goodwills I have been to in the NE, South, or Mid Atlantic, but it makes sense because they are in California.
