So very sweet. I also love how you preserve the integrity of the found treasures. And obviously care about the environment! ❤

Oh my goodness there's nothing I love more after a busy day of work than sitting down and creating an assemblage. So you have inspired me to create yet another one. I love making them but these are so cute. I know this is 4 years old and I wish I could enter to win but I love the pretty and pink one so so cute😊

No. 1 or No. 2 Both are wonderful! My favorite family tradition is the Italian tradition of frying smelts on Christmas Eve. I love the idea of using the purse as the base. Great assemblages Katherine! All of them!

I, love # 1, it reminds me of my Grandma (Whom I, miss very much) She would always do projects like yours every holiday for my bother and I. So every Christmas tree that I, have put up. I, decorate with all of the little creations she made me from the past. Thank you for reminding me of the creativity that so inspired my lovely Grandma.😀🌹

I love this so much! This project reminds me of my grandma as well. She is the reason I keep a box of possibilities full of anything that can be used in a future art project. ❤️

You would be surprised what you can find to make these assemblages with...even something new and unexpected. I had gathered some items to make an assemblage when I realized that I really didn't have anything to place the items on or in. Nothing seemed to work. However, one evening, I had just came back from Dairy Queen where I had ordered some cheese sticks. And I thought that if I painted and decoupaged the container that the cheesy goodness came in, it might be the container I needed. I wanted to add the words "Be Joyful" to the container, that I had cut from a Christmas card. I began by painting over the DQ on the front of that container. (Where I eventually placed "Be Joyful.") But I hadn't really examined the container closely until I started to paint it. As I began to paint my way around to the back side of the little box, I realized it had printed on it, the words, "fill up on Happy." How sweet! And to top it off, there were atomic star designs sprinkled around those words. Looked like it was right out of the 1950's. I was pleasantly surprised, and suffice it to say, I did not paint over the back of that container. By the time I was done, as cute as the assemblage was as a whole, my favorite part is that Dairy Queen takeout container. It turned out just perfect. You really can use just about anything for these assemblages. And they are fun to make, no right or wrong, fool proof, (which I really need), and they just turn your Christmas into a mid-century party. I love them. And the grandkids really love them too. I know how they feel. I remember my grandmother's little odd mid century assemblages and decor from when I was a little girl. It always seemed so magical to me. They can even be made rather quickly. It is a win win. I highly recommend doing them. And this is a great video to help get you started.

2! My fav tradition is to make homemade hot chocolate, bundle the kids up in their pjs and jackets, put on Christmas music and drive around the neighborhood to look at Christmas lights. It was always just my mom and I and I really treasure that memory. It’s something my kids look forward to doing every year now

Your soooo creative!!! I would have never thought of doing that! Good use of cardboard too, I love how much you upcycled. I love number 2. Favorite holiday tradition is putting up the tree. Once the tree was up we would lay under it and look up at the lights. Something about the smell of cranberries and the lights just makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside.

Oh my goodness you use cranberries! I need to know about this. I have seen fake ones in decoration garland but if you use real ones I need all the details!

Just found your channel. New subscriber here, I just want to say what a wonderful tutorial. You did a fabulous job explaining everything while not spending too much time on repetitive steps . My first thought was to use floral foam but I like the idea of reusing cardboard and building a stand. Even though it’s too late to enter the give away, I’d like to share my favorite Christmas tradition. As a young girl, maybe or 8 or 9, my mom let me help with sending out Christmas cards. I started out selecting the card for each recipient and addressing the envelopes and the next year she also let me sign the cards from the family for those recipients that didn’t also receive a personal note or letter from her. I felt so proud to be entrusted with such a big responsibility as a young girl. My mom passed away 24 years ago but I always think of her when I still send out my Christmas cards each year. 🎄🎅

This makes me want to do this with a bunch of my random knick knacks! #2 is just too adorable!!! My favorite family tradition is either decorating the Christmas tree together while we all drink hot coco as classic Christmas musical is playing! Or its when my family goes to my grandmothers for some homemade Christmas eve breakfast!! 😋
