I'm not a legal expert, but I believe selling those copied/burned/fake DVD movies is some kind of a copyright protection legal mess. Next time you see those, notify the management to consult a legal expert over the copyright laws around those. Don't want to see thrift stores taken down over something like someone bringing in their fake DVD collection. Even giving them away can be a legal problem.

I bought a lot of DVDs on Mercari, all copies. Messaged seller, he said he bought them from a local video rental, got refund, he said throw them out. I did.

Ive bought some DVDs off of ebay that are fake and I always message the seller to let them know. its crazy to me that some people dont check, or dont realize what a fake DVD is.

I used to work at a charity place and we got a huge donation of dvds, and there were some bootlegs included. I tried explaining that they weren't official and the quality could be bad, and it may not even have the correct content, but no one understood. Luckily I i had a portable dvd player, so I i popped them in, they all worked and had the right movies, so I figured alright. They're being given away for free, so probably no issue there.

correct! The only thing it doesnt account for are shipping costs. If I sell via FBA shipping per small item, like a DVD, can be less than 50 cents. For a larger item, like a board game, it could be a couple of bucks

If I seen dvds in a store that were fake or missing the dvds I would point them out to the people working there. They can get some serious fines against them or get the stores staff down for selling stuff like that. In the US I've hear horror stores of even people selling stuff that they thought was legit and having to go to court and having serious fees thrown at them.

Everytime I thrift Board games that are NOT sealed I don't buy. I don't want to check - see if all the pieces are in there. Plus those board games sell very slow on AMZ. AMZ is gating almost every other product in its catalog.
