You haven't, this is a remix of the blue pearl/bizarre Inc playing with knives that was nearly released in the 90s but the record company canned it. The proper version is a lot more like the normal Playing with knives. This is an absolutely awesome remix though, but it's a modern one. Search blue pearl vs bizarre inc and you'll find the proper old white label version. I've got it on Vinyl and it's one of my most treasured records. Paid £18 for it in 1999, thinking it was expensive for one record, it's priceless now.

I loved RAVE, still do. Cannot believe there are still so many on these pages complaining that there is not any good tunes anymore. Times move on. Thing is, if you give up before you have even looked around and listened to other dance formats such as Dubstep, D&B, House, Club, there are alot of groups, artists sampling the oldskool music and some are failing miserably, but there are alot out there that are fantastic. If you listen closely enough then you will hear it and more than likely enjoy

Yeah,it always puzzled me that the Blue Pearl lyrics said "the only time you feel it is when you're playing with knives", you can hear that piano melody in both songs but more prominent in Bizarre Inc. Remember talking to people at the time about what it was meant to mean; theories about 'hot knives' or that you were taking a risk taking a pill, you were playing with knives. Naked in the Rain was Blue Pearl's other great rave track. Wondered who were Bizarre Inc, were they just Altern8 under another name?

Listen closely to Playing with Knives and the commercial version of (Can You) Feel the Passion and you will hear subtle differences in the piano during the chorus' (especially because the Blue Pearl "piano" isn't actually a piano, just a synthy sound which sounds a bit piano-like when its mixed in with everything else). There exists an early promo version of (Can You) Feel the Passion which completely lifted the piano section from Playing with Knives and, apparently, upon hearing it, Bizarre Inc were not best pleased and wouldn't give Blue Pearl permission to use it in a proper commercial release (hence why (Can You) Feel the Passion sounds a little bit different) Although not technically the same group there is some foundation for your suspicion that Bizarre Inc was Altern 8 by a different name; They both had Mark Archer as a founding member, both formed in Stafford and were even signed to the same label. Although Archer left Bizarre Inc (to concentrate on Nexus 21 and subsequently Altern 8) before Bizarre Inc made it big its probably fair to say that Archers early influence somewhat informed the sound of Bizarre Inc.
