The fall blue rust red with the "cut-out" is a ruana or shawl. You flip one of the tails over your shoulder and pin with a nice brooch. Would love to have the one you found! Would go great with jeans and boots.

our SA stores are very expensive on their art tto .They put them in a bin made from pallet wood, which is very difficult to get individual pictures out to look at. they really get banged up, art begins at like 5.99 for a small little frame... Our SA stores are also phasing out the sale of books, they said when I asked that it is because you can Kindle or ebook so no one wants books...

Love the salad bowls. I have an obsession too,for old vintage crazed serving bowls. I use mine all the time. That quilted looking rooster would have came home with me....like I need it. lol Great haul Julie.

Love the bowls. Large shallow ones like those are great for spaghetti as they keep the sauce from ending up on the table. I'm glad you mentioned the lead test. I see so many people using old dishes who might not be aware that lead was not outlawed in dinnerware in the US until 1971. Some other countries may not have outlawed lead until later, not not at all.

Hi Julie. Love the dishes, so cute. Thank you for the tip about checking for lead. I also like the green and white or cream gingham check for a bathroom shower curtain. I live gingham check, it never goes out of style and its so country and primitive. Hey, have you asked them about that hutch, if they ever decide to sell it, have them call you. They might especially since they know you. It doesn't hurt to ask and it's cute as can be and I think I saw the name, Julie on it! Lol! I also liked the pillow, so pretty. When the soup bowls are shallow like those you picked up, we always referred to them as rim soups. To me the other soup looked more casual where the rim soups appeared more formal. A true rim soup has a rim like the dinner plate thus the term. I like the way you use white ironstone. ❤

Hi Julie The white plates are called soup plates or soup bowls. Sometimes they are marked USA. On the back sometimes they are marked homer Laughlin. My sister and I collect and use this Pattern we call it the seagull pattern because the little edging resembles seagulls in flight You scored a really good thing. Finding so many and at a great price

I've seen bowls like these referred to as pasta bowls. They do work great for that & for salads, too. The pillow was a great find as was the green check. The little pink & blue trinket dish with lid - I have a round one just like it on a shelf in my sewing room. I have no idea where it came from. I would have gotten the patchwork chicken, though I have no idea where I would put it.😂 I wish I had your self-control! 😊

I think that plaid linen with the cutout was a cape/shawl. The cutout would’ve been where your head goes and the skinny panels would’ve draped over the shoulders.
