This is the British version of the Americans circle of Fear. I'm glad the brits made many episodes. The Snoop Sisters is also good and Kolchak the Night Stalker tv show as well. I think it ran for 2 seasons but it was as good as the movie. Ellery Queen in the 70s was similar to this as well except it was more murder mystery than sometimes the supernatural.

This was shown in both the UK and US. In the US it aired, under a different title, at one in the morning and finished at 2:30 am. It had a British American cast. Remember Helen Mirren was in one excellent episode. No one knew who she was at the time. Her performance was Bravo!

This is the first time of watching this TV series, I was probably a bit too young to stay up when these were on. I love the Hammer Horrors, Tales of the Unexpected, and all the dark mystery and murder series from this era. Great storylines and its nice to see our well loved and respected actors and actresses in their earlier days! This was a smashing episode and I really enjoyed it. Helen Mirren is such a class act! Arthur English played many a role during the seventies, great actor!

so the family in the beginning, were very complacent they were unaware Miss Conway con artist was there and not quick enough to stop her. I know its early 70s and tech looks "primitive" to todays standards, they could have had an alarm system with their money at that time. Who knows maybe the maid was in on it and may have been angry for working under some possible demanding harsh conditions and needed the job at the time. She probably arranged for the killer to get into the house, before she conveniently had her night off from work. Also why did she have to assume the killer was a he? To not say it was a she? I know this episode is over and done with, no follow up is needed, none of this matters anymore, just wanted throw that out there. These were good stories.
