INFO: Forestella's very first appearance on Immortal Songs 2 was a song called "The Moonlight in Shilla", that song starts off with gregorian chants, and has harmony all the way through, it blew away the audience, the celebrities competing and started so many people who didnt know them before into watching every single performance of theirs. They are extremely artistic when it comes to their songs. The show is about 6 singers competing against each other and the one not knocked out at the end of the episode gets a trophy. Forestella has ALWAYS survived the first battle even if they didnt take the trophy at the end of the day. They always WON their first round and still hold the record for that in the show. Even taking out several King of King battles for the strongest contenders, they made a name for themselves on this show. However it was always that first song that blew me away to their amazing talent. Their harmony and blend of vocals on all of thier songs is outstanding.

The first singer was Ko Woorim, bass, who is currently serving his mandatory miliatary service. The second was Cho Min gyu. Both classically trained. The rocker/ countertenor is Kang Hyung Ho. No formal training and in fact was a chemical engineer. The last but not least is Bae Doohoon- musical theatre background. They are known for their perfectionism and harmonies. Love how they have each their own distinct voice but blend wonderfully when harmonizing.

What an unusual and creative twist to turn this very quiet folk classic into an explosive "Ropopera" rollercoaster ride. And it works. So many genres come together here in a very creative way, a wonderful example of CROSSOVER. FORESTELLA is not necessarily mainstream, they go their own way and the result is always TOP. The group's musical range is outstanding. Und these guys shine in every genre and style and this incredible versatility makes them unique and unbeatable.

I am so glad you are back to Forestella. I love male quartet music and have listened to gospel quartet for most of my teen and adult years. This group came up in my recommendation list and I was just floored. Now I don’t go a day without listening to them. I don’t care what language they sing in it is always magical. Their cover of Lara Fabian’s ( and I am using translation of title) “I Am Sick” still makes me cry when I watch it, and gives me goosebumps. “Time in a Bottle” was one of my favorite song when I was in high school so when I heard their version I was absolutely blown away. Love this group and never get tired of listening to them.

Us Forestella fans will be right here waiting for you 😊 I very much recommend their covers of Inner Universe and Exo's Mama. All of their Korean songs are a treat, I find, for example Moonlight over Silla, Snail or Cherished Face. My favorite Queen cover of theirs is actually The Show Must Go On, though it's performed by the three tenors alone as Ko Woorim is doing his military service at the moment. It was their first major performance without him (January this year) and showcases their three voices in a very special way, I feel.

Good to know there's someone else with a similar thought process 😊 Inner Universe is a must, I find, for understanding Forestella's artistic development and I'm sure Richard and Johnny will appreciate it. Forestella's Korean songs don't get enough love in general despite how amazing basically all of those performances are, and The Show Must Go On kind of falls by the wayside because Woorim is missing. Which is a pity because while his absence is very much felt - on purpose -, the other three do such an amazing job with the song, practically singing their heart out. Pronunciation break-down… -Woo Rim OO (like in “oops”) REEM (slight roll in the R…can be heard as a D, but saying it like “dream” without the D is ok) -Min Gyu MEEN (like “mean”) GYOO (like “you” with a quick hard G in front of it…sometimes can be heard as a K) -Doo Hoon pretty much sounds like it’s written -Hyung Ho HYUNG (like “young” with an H in front) HO (like Santa😊) I hope this helps!!! I think you'd be surprised to know that hyung ho(the last high note guy) is a chemical researcher who didn't learn music until he auditioned. And I screamed with emotion every time Doo Hoon came out. Please plan on seeing Forestella live when they come back to the United States again, probably in a year, after Woorim ends his military service. Winners and 2nd and 3rd place getters for seasons 1 to 3 came together and so Forestella had to pull out all the stops with each performance..… really high calibre competition in this series. Hi I love your reactions to Forestella. Your reactions are always so relatable. To make recognition of the members easier, in the majority of their performances they stand in a specific order from left to right it is Woorim, then Hyung Ho, followed by Mingyu and the Doohoon. This video is one of the exceptions where Mingyu and Doohoon were switched around. Hope you will be able to react to some of their Korean songs as some of their crossover songs. Loved your reaction! They blew me away in this same manner several years ago when I watched them perform this on Phantom singer all stars show. Actually every song they performed on that show was stellar and unique! Check out “ Je suis Malade” next. Followed by “ Inner Universe” . They were competing against the stars ( Top 3 Groups from each of the 3 prior seasons). Forestella brought their ‘ A’ game. Even the solo by Cho Mingyu “ Balada de Trompeta” was excellent. Funny thing is all these songs still give me goose bumps even after watching it at least a 100 times now.

Bae Doo hoon is the one you are impressed with, the guy in the red jacket is Cho mingyu leader of the group, the one who sings Bass is Ko Woorimong brown coat, on military service till 2025, and lastly Kang Hyung ho counter tenor rocker also goes by PITTA his solo version of Phantom of the opera is fantastic, try Legends never die, je suis malarde or Korean Mama or Inner universe sung mostly in Russian good luck ❤
