Great video, do you know what difference each fishing rod makes on the chance of getting specific fish? I heard the kraken is the best for farming starfish but never got confirmation

As far as I know, all that matters is the Fishing Bonus Level they give. If your Fishing level is 15 and you use a Kraken Rod (+3 Fishing Bonus Level), it'll be the same as if you had Fishing Level 18. That's all. (Unless there's a hidden stat or mechanic to each Fishing Rod, but I think that's unlikely).

3rd carp spot (2nd on habitat list) is caught in "Sanctum of desire depths". You have it in the video, but it seems you have combined them under just "Sanctum of desire B1" When in fact they are 2 different locations, but in the same place, a little like the pond example you did for Golden Rye Pastures, one side of the pond is Urstella Fields and other side is Golden Rye Pastures. Great video though and covers ALL the spots. Not sure why other videos with half the effort missing half the spots has more attention… but hey ho... Apparently, all the "new" fish are caught in the new fishing locations that pop up for 2 hours called "Famous fishing location". Each location has a specific rare fish with it. The spots are static, but only 1 appears at a time, and I'm still unsure of the cooldown for them to reappear at a different location once gone.

thanks for the video it was really helpful, is it true that small fish are better for small and big sacks? and is there a better location for those?

From my experience, yes, small fish hooks are much more likely to give sacks (especially small sacks). Big sacks are rarer, but I justed tested it and got a big sack from a small fish hook, so it's possible. Another thing I've noticed is that sacks are always "neutral" difficulty. That small red/blue arrow symbol next to the fishing bar shows the fish difficulty relative to your fishing level (if the fish is +2 levels above your fishing level, it'll be red, for example). But sacks are always neutral, so if you see the blue symbol you know it's a low level fish instead of a sack.

@@rorytv4383 No, not that I've noticed. Maybe fishing in places with a lower variety of fish can increase the chances of sacks (since the pool is less diluted), but the sack % chance might be fixed. Otherwise, everyone would be fishing at Sanctum of Desire or Grewclaw Forest (with only Solisium Carp besides Belphoret Bass).

I went to the "Famous Fishing Location" mentioned on your spreadsheet in Syleus 6F, but no Lava Fish bit my baits. Spent 100 baits there and only got sacks, or Belphoret Bass. Are the Lava Fishes bugged? Also, does it show that circle of fishes shown in the picture? Never seen those.

Does bait or type of rod have anything to do with what type of fish you catch, or just your level?

The bait you use does make a difference: Paste Bait is the plain bait with no additional effect. Worm Bait has a higher chance of attracting medium-sized fish. Shrimp Bait has a higher chance of attracting small-sized fish. Fish Fillet Bait has a higher chance of attracting large-sized fish. As for the Fishing Rods, all that matters is the Bonus Level they give. If your Fishing level is 15 and you use a Kraken Rod (+3 Fishing Bonus Level), it'll be the same as if you had Fishing Level 18.

Im level 12 mastery, using the paste, blue rod. Cant catch a steiped mackerel in any location to save my life, any ideas? Ive been catching snook more than anchovys.

Your Fishing Level might be too low. Striped Mackerel is a level 17 fish. If your Fishing Level is 14 (12+2 from the Fishing Rod), that's a 3 level difference. If you do hook one, It'll be a hard catch (red). If you still want to try, go and hook medium-sized fish in the places I showed in the video.

I didn't see the Ghost Thornfish on here, but I know from personal experience you can catch one from the famous pool spawn at Purelight Hill. I am not sure of the other one as I have tried the famous pool at Kastleton area and Abyss 5-6F, so I am assuming you can catch it at some other location the famous pool spawns but I haven't found it yet. It's literally the last one I need to I'm 98/99 for the fishing codex :/

There is no blacktail snook in saurodomo island i ve been fishing there last 3 hours and only hooked large fishes. And checked my location 10 times that im in SI not the stonegard coast:( MY fishing skill is 14(+3) and i was catching the snook when my fishing level 10-12 whats wrong? I've caught in Vienta, Akidu and Watcher's Post followed your guide and i caught snook in those location with lower skill but no snook in SI

Fishing is utterly bugged on my alt, I go to these places on the video and only silver anchovy and a few small bags. Over 100 silver anchovy in an hour and a half anytime I hook a bigger fish no matter how good my line control it just veers off in the opposite direction at the last second.
