1) Some bosses are highly resistant or completely immune to stun. Instead they get the shocked effect (from stunning blow).Deathblow does bonus damage against stun. Guillotine blade does not. It gets bonus damage against shock & prone. 2) Against bosses, Strategic rush is mostly used for the 40 bonus damage since most bosses will not be stunned by it, nor can you collide them. It's great when you can, but most of the time you can't so this skill is for the extra dps. 3) Witty strike mana restore is garbage you are in the 1000s of mana. 160 returned every 15 seconds is trash, unless used against a large pull of enemies where the restore is per enemy hit. For bosses It's mainly used for the stamina regen (specialization required). In a pinch if you're out of stamina, 2 witty strikes gets you 24 stamina back. Even still, way better against large pulls since you can max your stamina bar when used against groups. 4) Counter barrier & shield block does NOT work if you are holding the great sword. Without the specialization, It is a sword & shield skill only. Also, if your s&s is not out, there is ZERO chance for shield block which means zero use for counter barrier. If you want to use counter barrier with the great sword you MUST get the concentrated barrier specialization so that the skill works with your active defensive skill. Otherwise, again, this skill is useless while using the great sword. 5) Skillful evasion is mostly [pvp] for helping to dodge ranged attacks as it's effectiveness maxes out when you are 10m away from the target. And the 2nd part is only activated during provoking roar's up time. 7) Victor's morale is utterly trash. Don't use it at all. It's 9 (19 max) hp recovery PER hit (so at max for GS 19 hp per second). When your hp is in the thousands, 9-19 hp per hit is utterly useless. This skill would only work if paired with a quick multi hit weapon like crossbow or daggers & even then it's very, very underwhelming (maybe useful in pvp as a ravager. Even then, that's a big maybe). 8) If you're using provoking roar often as you should, you definitely want spectrum of agony passive. They compliment each other. Doubly so with the s&s during counter barrier up time as each shield block practically makes mobs damage themselves when they hit you. Also, duration of provoke happens every time you land an attack.

@@easynow1337 to be honest, it depends on your group. If you play with the same group, you should only make changes that will increase proficiency of your group. For starters, definitely remove counter barrier if the great sword is going to be your primary weapon. The s&s defensive skill can be replaced if you're good at countering fury attacks. I personally use the great sword defensive skill because the perfect block counterattack has a high chance to stun the boss. An extra stun just from deflecting is great. Next, I would say have two loadouts at least. 1 for mobs & 1 for the boss. You can do sick amounts of aoe damage & also single target damage but not proficiently on the same loadout. For example, the chain maxes your aggro. great for bosses. The controlling rake specialization is better for groups because its grabs 5 or 8 targets, puts them right in front of you & maxes the aggro on all of them. Decide if you wanna be sustained dps or burst damage. Choose 1, not both. If burst, use the charge for guillotine blade & deathblow. If you have a good bow user in your group don't use the charge because the bow user will reset your cooldowns often. Ultimately it depends on what feels good to you & works best for group. Lastly, if your group doesn't need additional damage reduction, the stalwart bastion specialization (great fury) turns the skill into a damage buff for the group, or an even greater selfish damage buff with 2 specializations. I’ve been using this building for a few weeks now and I will say it’s a lot of fun. I survive fights and deal a lot of damage. I’m only lvl 43 though. Any changes or updates that I should know about for this Tank build since time has passed?

You shouldn't use every purple drop you get only because it is purple, in most cases the right blue that you already have is better than the +9purple, mostly because blues traits can be upgraded and slotted easily. I do run a tank, and yes I don't use GS, instead use wand in the case the healer on my party dies or we need extra protection and in most cases it is the norm because at this such low level where healers don't have the ideal gear they need help. A tank is not about damage, is about protecting your party.

Leveling up a third weapon is not such a bad journey. But a set is different. I have SnS and GS on one build and staff and dagger for the other. And trust, to level all 4 is quite a challenge and time consuming.

I guess this is a PVE build? I would swap witty strike with Stalwart Bastion with the party skill dmg boost buff (bossing). Spectrum of agony is for mob farming combined with tornado from GS skills, i would replace that with impenetrable.

Im useing Dagger greatsword and honestly I am still struggling on what to build atm im focusing 100% on damage for pve but am still uncertain whats best over all, I plan to sub into tank with Great sword and shield aswell for dungeons and what not. Skill wise im using the thunder specs for dagger and the obvious gs stoneprone wombo combo

Perdownlly bcs of Greatsword passive i dont take Wisdom geels useless, Im the lithograph there is a Ring thst gives Dex (i believe 5 or 6 when maxed) which is rlly nice also some attackspeed, So rlly nice for tankdps

Just sub, thx for the video. I started the game a couple hours ago and im going in with Sns + Wand, i feel like this kind of tank will be sought out a lot in the end game or in PVP, it can be a bit slow for the start pve but at least it looks cool 😂

Without perception I miss most of my attacks... lol.. u haven't had an issue with that? I went into floor 3 of syleuss abyss and missed 4 of 5 attacks

I started as a healer wand/staff but dont really like how targeting works, so i switched to kinda hybrid dps :D really love the game, but they have to add mouse over for healers :D

@@rohleek5939 yeah you right, my bad. There is mouse over for targets to attack I’m not sure if that works to heal. As a healer main I just use the party bar on the left and click that to select someone for heals or just pop the AOE heals

You don’t need a 100% defensive build to tank bosses. Especially in the current state you need some offensive skills to make damage. Damage=Aggro. Last time I’ve run a dungeon the dps were so high that I wasn’t able to hold aggro. I swapped my defensive skills to damage skills and than no problem anymore 😅 (I have gear score 2868)

@@88Vrus88 you are tanky as hell with right gear (max health, some Defenses traits like evasion or endurance) 😂 It’s important to have the sword and shield in the mainhand. The greatsword is in the offhand. And in the build you see here in the video there are defensive skills. The most important is counter barrier. Pop this when boss makes a big hit and you are good to go 🎉😊
