Yeah was older man from what I remember. Prly doesn't want toys or the hassle to resell at that point in life if easy cash is an option. I'm not a fan of the R35, I would have taken it and resold after a season and got something I wanted.

You can use rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle to help install hoses. Lubricates long enough to get it on and then dries completely. Better than grease IMO.

I hope you guys change the intercooler pipes. That upper pipe expands as it gets hot and heat soaks the motor. If you put the bigger intercooler, might as well put the better intercooler pipes as well

I would Never put grease in charge pipe couplers. If anything use something called p80 grip it... but otherwise leave them dry. Last thing you need is a pipe to blow off.

Instead of unplugging the injectors to get pressure a better way is to just remove the fuel pump relay/fuse. Love the vids though, you guys do a great job.

Love seeing y’all work on an evo finally but why go through all the trouble installing a new fmic and not put new upper and lower intercooler piping? The oem couplers on the evo X are garbage and eventually collapse under load especially if your going to tune it and run a little more boost. Speaking as a previous evo x owner 👌🏽🤝

There is a product that the OE use for IC connections called Purple Merpol. That is water based and disperses after fitting. I would never use oil or grease on IC connections. IC hose blow off is the greatest warranty issue for OE turbo cars. With any long term lubricant the hose will creep under the clamp over time. Another alternative is highly diluted dish soap. Also I love the term "three quarters of a quart". When will you guys just accept metric?

How hard are you guys gonna be pushing this Evo? Dual oil coolers could prevent the oil from getting to temperature. For intercooler pipe assembly, i use soapy water. Once the water dries, the soap residue acts as a glue.

I don’t want to be that guy but.. with the couplers, if they’re hard to put in, use isopropyl alcohol. It will act like lubricant but will evaporate after so you don’t have to worry about residue.

Im suprised didnt fill the oil cooler first before starting it. I did that once with a twin oil cooler and blew motor cause the twin cooler and ran with the line held almost 5qt and car only held 6qt total in oil pan

Do you need to disconnect all the injectors or would it be possible to just disconnect one injector and then prime the car? Thank you!! (I’ve tried taking out my fuel pump fuse but the car just starts up right away and I’m looking for ways to prime my evo x so I will give this a shot, thank you!)

Why upgrade the stock intercooler if you aren’t planning additional power or upgraded turbo (I’m assuming since you’re using CARB parts)? Putting a larger intercooler is just going to create a large pressure drop, which means less boost hitting the engine. The stock one does a great job, high quality, wasn’t the case on the older evos
