I wonder if This house where monet stayed was odd in the french surrounding area. Most chateau we see had the blue gray shutters. Here with a pink exterior the shutters are green. How odd it would have looked for the pink wall with blue shutters would have looked. However this home wasnt a chateau either. Not sure what the local homes would have looked like.
