Is anything these days "not art"? I mean seriously. How much further can the validation of talentless art continue before it has lost all meaning? If it hasn't already? This kind of promotion feels suspiciously like a cop out. Art has become a convoluted mess. This video specifically reads more like a propaganda exhibit then an art gallery.

@@Watkinsstudio "Self-Pity"? How so? About what? Disillusionment with the 'art world'? I don't call myself an artist. If that's what you're getting at. After rereading that comment from a year ago, it looks like I was simply leveling criticism toward (what I see) as the devaluing by delusion of what is considered to be authentic/worthwhile art. As opposed to what is essentially 'entertainment value'. A concept that also applies to words and writing (in general). Things (especially words) can become overused* to the point of near meaninglessness. My comment was overall pretty negative, and many of those exhibits are actually quite good; but some of them were clearly 'arthouse tripe'. I was trying to make that point. (for instance) These days every person capable of rhyming 2 or more words, calls themselves an 'artist'. A line must be drawn somewhere. Culture does mean 'culturing' over time. If we chose to celebrate every talentless hack for compassion sake (or any other reason) it inevitably devalues culture itself. I would think that is plainly obvious these days. In short, I think most of what is called 'art' now, is entirely meritless. While people 'pretend' not to notice. Entertainment sure, but not worth celebrating as 'art'.

just now reading your comment so your saying these people have no talent, they have no right to express themselves and their culture, all art is subjective and to put down an entire showing because it doesn't fit your aesthetic has more to do with your own misunderstandings, hatred, disdain for whatever you didn't accomplish, if you are not an artist, it shouldn't bother you so deeply. Art and life exists without your permission and approval. You sound like a critic who failed in whatever they were trying to pursue and is bitter about it.@@roostercogburn3272

Einstein was right about long winded commenters. If you can't express it concisely you don't understand it.@roostercogburn3272
