Holy... OK wow... This is EXCELLENT! This song in general, when looking at it through a storytelling and the game's perspective, just SCREAMS Ellie... I could go on for hours about why this song fits so well, but to keep things concise and brief, I'll just say this. This song, when Ellie is singing it, is basically about her. The second verse, where it's talking about a person who calls themselves a savior, is Ellie referring to herself. She, being immune and all that, was potentially a savior of the human race. But, as we know if we played either game, she never got to do that. By the point in Part II, she is almost an entirely different person with an entirely different view on life. "How can you save the world from itself?" translates to "I lost my chance to do the right thing and I can never take that back." Anyway, an excellent job on the cover! This is probably the best cover of "Through The Valley" that I've seen! And the game has been out a LOOONG time, so that's saying something!

Absolutely beautiful cover! This game blew me away in ways that has never happened before in my entire gaming history. As to why it did; I'll leave y'all with my paraphrase of Pain's cycle of hatred speech from Naruto Shippuden fitted to The Last of Us 2. "Ellie and Abby seek the same thing. Tbh with you, I really don't care about TLOUII, all the hype talk turned me off from even watching gameplays of the game. It definitely didn't deserve as many awards as it got either. But I love this song, before it was re-recorded for this game, because Shawn James is an amazing singer and songwriter. So I'll enjoy this cover anyway, and I'm glad for the recognition this song is finally getting by having been in the game.
