Thank you all for listening to Scott Underwood's epic multitrack recording of my composition 'Through the Vaulting Skies'! Be sure to check out the program notes in the description for a better idea of the story behind the music!

Such a fun summer project! An even better piece, it was a pleasure to work with Chris to make sure everything was as accurate as possible to what he envisioned for his masterpiece. Hope everyone enjoys this multitrack recording!

Vengeance at 7:18 is such a cool spot! Makes me want to continue writing my adventure/war style sax quartet. Keep on writing and nice work as always!

Appreciate it! The piece is meant to be super cinematic and grand, but Howard Shore's Lord of the Rings soundtracks were my go to inspiration for much of the material.

Love it! Did a lot of arranging for trombone choir in college (1970s). Only had one piece I really liked. Our trombone professor was also quite the arranger (any configuration of instruments). He taught instrumentation and arranging as well. He taught us never to use an interval of less than a 4th, below 2nd space C in the bass clef...said it was too muddy sounding. However, these days I see/hear this "rule" broken all the time (this piece being one of them). Maybe my arrangements would have been better if I had ignored this rule. Nevertheless, I did quite a few arrangement for concert/symphonic band that were good (I was pleased with them). So it worked out in the end. However, I would see it hard-pressed for him to criticize this arrangement. Might also add that I always thought a small tuba was great with a trombone choir. Chuck Morris of the Albany Symphony changed my mind about that in recent years. Go contrabass trombone! Great work!. Glad I listened!

Let’s go a new trombone quartet!! This one is AMAZING! 1:25 gives me Holst Jupiter vibes.

Neat! I love Holst’s music, but this wasn’t meant to be too influenced by him. I guess that’s what happens when I write in a more cinematic style!
