I just ‘discovered’ your channel and I would say I am jealous with your road trips with your Dad. He is soo cool 😎 you should come to visit Canada particularly in Alberta :) you should see Banff, Jasper, Waterton Parks, and many more (of course with Dad) I will continue watching the rest of your videos without skipping the ads. Take care of your Dad, God bless and more power to both of you!

Me also...late March "89. I was 25. Didn't even charge a fee. Hardly any people. Nothing roped off, you could walk anywhere. We thought we'd try to get on Landscape Arch. (We were invincible). On the way up there was a small sign that said "don't go any farther...X amount of people have died trying". We turned around! It sure was beautiful !

Love your channel. Have to disagree about the Park Ave hike, It’s one of my favorite. Here’s the trick, go to the first view point, take it all in, then drive around to the bottom of the trail and begin your hike from there. It’s flat and easy, and the scale of how high the walls are is breathtaking. Only walk half of it or until it begins to elevate then turn back. Also, it is better at a different time of day when both side are lit, and, kids can run around down there because it’s so wide and sandy.

I loved the hike up to Delicate Arch (Icon of Arches), a must. Hope you saved time for Canyon lands N.P. and Dead Horse State Park, both a short drive up the highway. Both, beautiful parks and breathtaking views there... Great footage! Some of the best times of year to visit this park (and much of the Southwest in general) are the so-called "shoulder seasons" in April, May, September, and October. Maybe November in some places, although it can err on the cold/snowy/icy side in many.

Having gone there many times, here's my recommendations. First, not a recommendation but a important restriction. Climbing on the arches is not allowed. OK now that I've said that, try to do 2 or more days if you can. For 1 day when the permits are in effect, try to get one as early as possible. For a single day, skip the visitors center and all of the overlooks on the way in. Hit the three main areas 1st, as these will get crowded quickly, probably devils garden, then windows, then delicate arch. After you get your fill of these three areas, then hit the lookouts and lesser areas, as there is a better chance of parking than in the main areas. I agree with one other commenter on park avenue, start at the bottom, walk up the trail till you get to the big climb at the end, then go back to the bottom parking lot. The biggest problem with this is that the bottom parking lot is very small. Take time at overlooks or pull-outs and look around. Look for smaller details, shapes and textures in the rocks, distant views. Finally, be courteous and patient with other visitors in the park, it will make your visit more enjoyable. One other thing I've done is to go into the park at night when there is a full moon. Everything takes on a very different, eerie vibe, and there are very few people there.
