What’s insanely impressive is he’s 72.4% 0-3ft for a 6”5 wing and drawing all those FTA, AND splashing from 3 on very good volume. I doubt he will sustain 72% from 0-3ft but that’s crazy. And only 76% of his 3PA are assisted, 16.1% come from the corner where he’s only shooting 30%. So he’s creating a lot of 3s, and hitting at a very high clip from non corner. Obv 10g is a v small sample. Nobody is runaway anything right now. Let’s see at least 45-50GP for these guys before we start forming strong opinions. Not saying you can’t have a favorite young guy obviously lol. Enjoy bball! Just saying for awards and stuff nobody’s running away w a damn thing through 10g. Paolo was the rightful #1 pick it seems, as much as you can say that through 10g, but let’s chill.

as a timberwolves fan, i agree with everything, everyone been disappointing especially the starting 5. i give jaden a little slack, because he’s been solid as a defender and is growing offensively. prince, reid, and mclaughlin i would rate them as good solid players, based on what they bring in their minutes. nowell is in the middle for me, not disappointing at all but would love to see more growth from him. anderson is also sort of in the middle, he missed games, hope he’s good now, cause he usually brings solid minutes.

MIN said we need a big change, KAT can’t be our C if we are gonna be a contender. We need someone who can boost our D. So they went out and got the biggest defensive floor raiser of the modern era. AND IT WORKED! If you’re 7th in defense, and T10 in offense, you’re going to be a really good team that can make post season runs. The problem with their plan is A. What they had to give up to get that #7 defense, (basically everything, every pick, swap, even some valuable role players like PatBev, Malik Beasley Vando, etc) along with how much Gobert literally costs in salary… B. The fit of Gobert with Ant, KAT, McDaniels, and DLo. Ant is their future. He should on the team for AT LEAST this year and 6 more, ideally this year and and another decade plus. He’s 21 and still is on his rookie deal for this year and next, then he’s an automatic 5yr max barring injury. KAT is signed for this year and 5 more. They openly love McDaniels and they plan to have him around longterm seemingly. The craziest thing to me is that MIN GM/FO etc apparently didn’t consult w Ant & KAT about adding Gobert. Obviously you don’t want to rely on your players to make decisions for you, but you at least need to know the two guys that’ll be on the team for the entirety of the Gobert thing are excited to play w him and cool w adding him. Ant has made comments about the lack of space multiple times now. It’s not like this was an ATL deal for Murray where you still have Hunter, AJ Griffin, Onyeka, even Jalen Johnson, then still have your own ‘23, ‘24, ‘28, ‘29 1sts, a SAC ‘24 1st, a buncha 2nds including two OKC ones, then ‘25 is only a swap. ATL can still make a bunch of moves…and if Dejounte really doesn’t work out it won’t kill them. If the Gobert deal doesn’t work, they’re basically cooked for like 5 years lol. They have their own 2024 1st and some late picks from 2022 like Wendell Moore…but there aren’t many ways to improve the team. This post is mad long so I’ll wrap it up. Just for reference, KAT’s extension kicks in in 24-25 for $50M. Ant’s extension also kicks in the same year, and it’ll be $35M+. If he hits All-NBA at the right time, or triggers Rose rule some other way, it’ll be $42M+. Gobert is making almost $44M. AND McDaniels extension would also kick in in 24-25. They’re gonna already be at the cap that season just with KAT, Ant, Gobert, and McDaniels. If this doesn’t work out, they mortgaged a lot of their future and wasted a lot of great Ant years for nothing. Idk if ppl truly understand just how all in they are…and they’re gonna have to be willing to go deep in to the luxury tax to see this through. All I can say is good luck…and if it goes south I hope Ant can somehow get out after he gets his bag 😂
