'Neither side should win the war completely', was the famous strategy of Henry Kissinger. Soon after revolution, Israelis began to use lobbies inside Iran to change the stance of Khominie on Palestine. In Israel thinking, since Palestine is not a Shia issue, Khominie would be agreed to establish diplomatic ties with Israel. After war with Iraq ended, Israeli strategy seemed to fail despite all lobbying efforts and Iran-Contra affair e etc doomed to fail. Iran played well against both Israel and Sunni attackers like Sadam& Saudi Arabia etc, Khominie got some sophisticated weapons from America to defeat the ally of America, Sadam simultaneously.
