Kara were legendary in their own right. Yet they rarely get referred to as one of the more successful 2nd gen GG's. They were my first Ult group. It's sad that we'll never get a full reunion now. Kamilia forever.

Most of international fans back then don't know who KARA is, but they are really famous in Korea and especially in Japan where they have the biggest fanbase competing with SNSD, that's what I heard back then.

I'm a KAMILIA ( fandom name of KARA ) and they were really big in both Korean and Japan (esp in Japan). After winning with their song "Honey", they kept winning more trophies on music shows every time they made a come back. "Mister" was a bigger hit too. They made history of their own and was one of the biggest gg next to SNSD, even charted as one of the top GG's back then and often side to side with SNSD but sadly people forgot about KARA after Nicole and Jiyoung left the group. I mean, they still won on music shows and the charts with Youngji (the new member) but it wasn't the same. After the disband it's like people forgot about them and their achievements. The history they built on their own. Sad people don't look through it at what they did. They have a whole case of awards and trophies too. They helped DSP up when it was struggling with money. They perform on big stages and domes. The fanbase was huge too. I still can't believe people forgot about them cause I don't hear people talk about them anymore. I'm still a KAMILIA and Goo Hara will always be my ultimate bias. RIP to our angel. I always hoped for the reunion that Gyuri mentioned before ......

I mean, anyone who is talking about successful 2nd gen girlgroups is going to talk about Kara, so I don't really understand your comment. Certainly a lot of people who got into kpop from the 3rd gen or even the 4th gen have yet to fully delve into the 2nd gen. But those of us who have been around since those days and those of us who have taken the time to do their homework will always bring Kara into conversations about the biggest girlgroups of that era.

@@leenuhh_ Yeah, I think it was only towards the end of last year that Twice overtook Kara for the most successful kpop girl group in Japan - which is obviously only comparible to a certain degree due to the difference in how success is defined and acquired between then and now.

@@oliverhughes610 you pretty much answered your own question. Nowadays, I rarely ever hear their name brought up in the same sentence as other successfully groups from that generation. Just anecdotal experience, ya know. Like when I watch variety shows like Running Man, Kara songs are almost never played. I'm not trying to argue popularity. I love the group. I just wonder why they aren't brought up as often in the things that I watch and see.

Kara is the 1st girl group that brings Hallyu Wave to Japan. They’re the pioneer of kpop in Japan. Then followed by SNSD. Gosh. I just missed 2nd generation so bad.

She’s Nicole! She also has a solo debut song called Mama. In addition to that, every of these members has a solo track that was part of a solo collection album. Each has its own MV too! Highly recommend checking them out. Each is a different style and sound. When Mister came out that's when I got into Kara, I was so obsessed with them! Hara's strong visuals and dance caught my attention. She reminded me so much of Namie Amuro. At the time they were the most successful k girl group in japan. I loved that their Japanese singles sound japanese and not a japanese song with a bunch of random english. When she passed it really ended a era for kpop, Such a gentle soul. RIP Goo Hara

Dezzy if they made you speechless, that means only one: you need more KARA in your life. They are one of the most successful girls groups in kpop history. I really recommend you to check Damage Lady, Lupin, Mister, Honey. This group made hit after hit. Also if you liked their main vocal, you should check Han Seungyoun song Guilty.

Love these throwback videos Dezzy!! I got into kpop back into 2013 through 2ne1 and I used to bump to this song and all those 2nd gen girl groups!!
