You have the settings up for a 3 port but aren’t running it with 3 port plumbing. When it tries to vent boost, it’s venting on the third port and making a Venturi and pulls vacuum on the port to wastegate. Switch the settings in your holly if they have one for 2 port or switch it to 3 port plumbing (which uses the lower port on the wastegate). Upvote to help him see this!

Funny thing Brent was tuning a Honda Civic and they had a 3 port and a 1olb spring on the waste gate they told.him to go-to a 4 way and a bigger spring. But Brent was just saying the same thing about the port on the boost controller

MAC VALVE -EXPERT- GUY HERE.... aaaaaaand EDIT. Some pretty good points were brought up here. If the original valve was used this wouldn't be an issue. It was working before. So either "Cleet 'Troubleshooting' McYeet" got it right and the valve went bad or it was hooked up backwards and it's operator error. Also possible that the CO2 pressure was over the limit of what the valve could handle. Lot of great comments with with lots of knowledgeable people. -on some styles you remove the head of the valve and change the plunger direction. This will cause the valve to work in the opposite state. Should be able to view this in the manual for reference-

Yeah this seems totally plausible. Sounds like it was configured to vent off the co2 to create a vacuum over a venturi, rather than just feeding pressure directly into the output. Might be as simple as opening or closing the vent?

Love too see it. I Just scraped and clawed thru an issue with my wife’s latest upgrades. Turned out to be Intermittent coil, only failing under boost? with no code for a week? Ive seen coils go and diagnosed coil for people in under 5 seconds, but not this one!Also I am a 15yr hvac/R tech and I’ll tell you all something, veterans and newbs just getting into it (building/fixing etc. At the end of EVERY repair, it is ALWAYS something stupid..... that is, after you know what it was. So its part of learning, like Cleetus, just keep digging in and trying shit. When its fixed, (unlike him having 1.5mil people to help him) you will start asking questions and reading up on that part and truly discover what/why the problem occurred. You then have one more piece of hundreds of parts that have now become simple to you. Over time your a master tech. Great Job Garret. Love to see you figure stuff out

Leroy ran an 8.01 last time out on a greasy track. It will be back in the 7s next race easily. Ruby is a pretty solid 8.50 car right now. But little ripper AKA leroys record breaking engine is going to be a massive upgrade for ruby. Only thing better then a 7s car is two of em.

Once the new motor is in and the cage is updated to a 25.5D or 25.4c then you know he's shooting for 7s and than you'll learn even with a glide and panels running mid 7s is still hard.

Hey there Cleetus! Just wanted to help you out with a friendly tip. When you do the headlight restoration, it doesn’t say it always on the bottles but you need to use like 800 grit or higher sand paper to remove the oxidized layer of plastic off before trying to use the two part restore kit. It just works soooo much better. After you use the kit, you can use a polish like NuFinish to protect the top layer. NuFinish needs reapplying every 4-6 months, and as long as you keep using that it will never cloud up again on the headlights. :)

Cleetus, for your headlights, try some Blue Magic chrome polish. It's a micro abrasive and will make the covers look as good as they possibly can with a lil elbow grease. I've used it to clean up oxidation on headlight covers, on paint, to make chrome pop again, and as a lapping compound for my firearms. This stuff works great! I would advise to wax paint after application and for the headlight covers, use Armor All or some type of plastic/vinyl restoration agent. All the best!

Hey Cleetus, I want to pass on a headlight trick I learned. Take some White Diamond metal polish on a rag and "buff" it onto the light, wipe it off, and then hit it with some Icy Hot spray, and then wipe clean. No idea how or why it works lol, but it's worked great for me in the past!

Even though I don’t mess with engines, I do work work with Mac valves on a daily basis and they are pretty unreliable. They are very sensitive to temperature changes as well.. in short, I rarely ever see them work correctly under extreme conditions... glad you got her fixed, hell yeah brother!!

The Mother's headlight kit works a charm. Comes with a small version of the polishing ball they sell for mag wheels, sanding discs and backing pad in case your headlights are really chowder-ed up, and the polishing compound. That will get those headlights looking amazing quickly and easily.

Thats literally what this entire channel is. Every car in the fleet was bought on camera. Leroy was a craigslist find at around 5k. Neighbor was bought for his neighbor so that he could go drag racing, as far as i know he's passed now. Ruby was a spur of the moment buy. 10k, bought to be just another vette until it was found to have badly put together with cheap parts, at which point they decided to go with a "budget build" to do a giveaway with fans. The more I think about this the more it throws me because here is how that boost control solenoid works it's a simple 3 port as you add duty cycle it should open the vent and allow boost pressure from the reference to bleed off into the atmosphere reducing the pressure in the line going to the waste gate so technically it was working perfectly I'm not sure that's even the same solenoid as he is he using on Leroy I'm guessing something has been physically changed in the solenoid for it to operate in that way Nonetheless Air is just like electricity is just like water it will always take the easiest route in this case just shooting out to the atmosphere is a whole lot easier than trying to push down against a waste gate so it flowed out of the vent at high speed and as stated above this created a low pressure atmosphere on the waste gate side of the solenoid and judging by his boost numbers about 6 pounds a vacuum

You can’t use those headlight restoration kits on the c6 headlights. They get tiny cracks on the inside of the clear plastic. The only way to fix it is to replace the lenses. It’s not very difficult and can be done in a few hours. You can get the new lenses with gaskets for less than $200 on eBay

Forgot to mention a fun and crazy fact. CO2 is actually SOLUBLE in Butyl rubber, so maybe not a good choice of gas. Pretty crazy but if you fill a Bicycle tire/tube using CO2 it will lose pressure over night. Auto/truck tubeless tires have some kind of coating on the inside that prevents that. So the CO2 could be screwing with the O rings in Mac valves. You can get a 5,000 psi carbon fiber wrapped high pressure air bottle, it is just clean dry air. Fire extinguisher can fill them with either Nitrogen or Air, each company chooses what to use, my local co uses high pressure air, same type of compressor that fire department has to fill their breathing bottles, scuba shop can fill them too.

Hey cleetus hear me out brother! Don't waste time on the lens cleaners. I work in auto body, and the process we use is wet sand the lenses with 1500-2k grit sandpaper, clean the sanded headlamps and prep them for GOOD clear coat. Avoid aerosol clear coat of possible. Professional clear makes it look brand new. I promise. Just keep away from the runs and drips lol. Bog deep cleet.

Use flitz metal polish on the headlights, back to brand new.... the yellowing and haziness is from the uv coating spayed on... the meal polish will take it away, no more yellowing, you just have to reapply the polish when needed.

Just a heads up, that really does nothing permanent. Rubbing any type of oil into the headlight will temporarily make it look clearer. The only real way to fix headlights is to sand them down and then step up the grit until you’re at a high polish. It’s easy.

To clear up those headlights grab some deepwoods OFF or just whatever has the highest DEET concentrate. Just spray directly onto lens and let sit for just a few seconds and buff it off, repeat if necessary. No joke, it really works i've tried those resto kits and this is cheaper, faster and more effective!
