Was the Thrush 510P fun to fly?

Fun isn't really the right word, I like it better than the AT but it takes a lottle more runway and muscle to get off the ground.

Patrick Cohen I had a good friend who was killed on March 19, 2017 on his way to spray a field. Last year on his birthday he said he sprayed almost 3300 acres of cotton in one day and would put in right at 800 hrs in a season. He had 43 years crop dusting experience with over 30000 flying hrs. Is that a lot for a day and season?

Sorry to hear abput your friend. But yea 800 hours is a nice season. That much flying would pay $200,000 in this part of the country.

Patrick Cohen He flew in Minton, MS for a while. He said there were days he only got out of the plane twice in a day.

Yup sho was. I usually pull the breaker so I dont hear it all the time but in that Thrush the master caution on the MVP engine management system will go off if I pull the stall breaker.

wow man.. aren't you afraid to stall the airplane?..i mean, i just finished the crop dusting training and the stall alarm is something i would try to avoid.. but i understand you experience level and knowledge.. is there something you could share with me about these turns?

From my experience (4000+ hours) the stall warnings are not very accurate. After you spend enough time in the seat you will really learn to feel the plane and also you will learn where the edge of its envelope is. I dont care about a stall warning at all because I can feel the plane and I know when it is about to stall. Thrushes and Air Tractor will buffet pretty violently before they stall. I actually have a video on my channel that shows an Air Tractor buffett.
