My t80 steers to the right just fine. Some times, say 1 out of 5 times, when i turn to the left the car dives to the left. Into the walls or fences. In calibration in F1 I can see that sometimes it registers a 60+% input, however the wheel is only rotated for about 5%. When i continue to steer it then somewhere picks up the right signal for the amount I rotate the steeringwheel. It glitches out mostly between 5 an 10% in the left motion range. Could it be the same issue that your working on here?
@justinsauer56824 жыл бұрын
Sure sounds like it could be. If you have a multimeter, take apart the steering wheel and measure the potentiometer. Multimeter set to ohms auto scale. The resistance should be change smoothly without any erratic changes in value as the potentiometer is moved.

@justinsauer56824 жыл бұрын
take it apart and measure across the potentiometer. if you need to replace the value is written on it somewhere on the part. 103 would equal 10K ohms, 203 20Kohms and so on. you can go to digikey search potentiometers you'll want a linear one, then match up one that best matches the dimensions of the one that's in your steering wheel. that should take care of it.

I purchase the same value of potenciometer, but the pot haven't a D shaft. How do I centralize it so that it is not pulling to the right or to the left?
@justinsauer56823 жыл бұрын
It's gotta have a flat The flat part of the shaft has to mate up with the flat side of the receiving hole. If your shaft is completely round it will not even fit into the receiving hole. I guess if u have it together, you got it to fit. Anyway You'll need to manually set the shaft to its correct position. Turn on the game, get to where you can view the steering wheel display, with everything wired in pull the pot out from the plastic housing. If you move the shaft you'll see the steering wheel on the game correspond L or R. Set it to where the steering wheel is centered. Don't touch the shaft after that. Assemble the pot back together. You can fine tune it with the black plastic backing piece just loosen up the 2 screws and slightly twist the plastic piece one way or the other until the steering wheel is perfectly centered. Tighten up the 2 screws There's not much adjustment only fine tune adjustment. Hope that makes sense. Good luck.

Hello sir, i have a problem with my tm 458 italia.. when i turn the wheel my gas pedal stop working sometimes, if i would change the pedal pot it will work again?
@justinsauer56823 жыл бұрын
Hi, the two are totally unrelated. I'm assuming it is only coincidence. My guess is that the pot in gas pedal has or is going bad. If you take apart your gas pedal assembly you'll see the same part (potentiometer). Make sure you replace it with the same value also linear pot
@casianbotez30113 жыл бұрын
@@justinsauer5682 first i will try to swap the pots, take the pot from brake and put on the gas pedal, after this the brake should have the same problem like the gas pedal, right?
@justinsauer56823 жыл бұрын
@@casianbotez3011 yes that's correct. If you have the means to do an ohms check on the suspected bad part. that would be a good idea. The resistance between the two outer pins will be a fixed value which equals the value of the part, probably 10k ohms. Connecting to the middle pin and one of the outer pins while the pot is rotated the value should change from 0 ohms to 10k ohms. Or vice versa. The change should be very gradual, with no erratic jumps in value. There could be a dead spot which would cause a failure when the wiper of the pot crosses that point. Also you may want to spray some electronic cleaner into to part. That may give you a temporary fix. Good luck

@@casianbotez3011 ok next step I would do is check the wired connection from the pedal all the way to the wheel. Check for lose intermittent connections Maybe when you're turning the wheel it's causing a slight vibration and it's causing the connection at the wheel chassis to go intermittent. It should have like the old fashion phone connector check the little spring wire connectors. Intermittent failures are the most difficult to locate.

No reason why it shouldn't. You can verify the old part as bad. Connect a digital volt meter set to "ohms" auto ranging across the two outer pins of the original part. A good part will read 10k ohms. Connect outer pin to center pin, doesn't matter which one, slowly rotate the shaft of the part the reading should be a smooth change from 0-10kohms. Good luck with the fix.

That wire is permanently attached to the pedal assembly. You may be able to use a straight telephone wire the connector jacks look the same, except the locking clip is offset on the pedal wire you would just remove the center locking clip on the phone jack and it just may fit perfectly. Then you'd have to solder the wires on the other end of the cable to the pedal motherboard making sure connections from steering wheel to pedal motherboard match the original cable.

First make sure problem is coming from the wheel and not a console issue. There could be an intermittent connection somewhere in the connecting wires of the wheel. Those are tough to find. I would start by taking everything apart and clean everything as I go. There's a little motherboard in the wheel with connectors. Make sure no wires are lose on it. Do a point to point continuity checks along the wire harness from the USB connector to where it terminates. Wiggle the steering wheel as you go. Good luck
