Video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jqaXo5eMrriSkK8 Ok Lads, here is how you configure the conditioning levers correctly on the TCA Airbus Quadrant or even the (Boeing quadrant, by using reverse switch as Toggle Feather Switch) You need the TCA Airbus Spoiler/Flaps add on. (or use 2nd throttle) 1. Remove all virtual button assignments from quandrant components in msfs ATR72 joystick profile, spoiler, throttle, flaps. 2. Set propeller axis to the SPOILER axis(REVERSE) on the TCA addon. 3. Set Toggle Feather Switch 1&2 to Joystick Button 31. 4. Set R-AXIS Z curves as follows, SENSITIVITY-(-10%), SENSITIVITY+(-78%), DZ(0), NEUTRAL(-21), EXTREMITY(-73%), REACT(100%) In this config setting the spoiler handle to center = Auto on the ENG condition.

Hi Jonathan, have used this guide and set the throttles exactly the same as in the video, HOWEVER, whilst they work perfectly on the ground for taxi/take-off, the throttles do not respond to manual movement in the air (to reduce thrust upon descent, etc), or move to the reverse detent upon landing. Any thoughts? Anything to do with the last ATR update in the sim? Have you flown the ATR recently to verify your settings still work?
@EightPawsProductionsHD Жыл бұрын
Never mind I worked it out: The Idle Gate (under the throttles) has to be pulled out during flight for the throttles to respond (which is the opposite position it is mean to be in), so it seems like a bug.

I have the saitek throttles. They are moving correctly the ATR throttles (probably not reverse). But they also move the CLs, does that happen to you? This is no good because when I come back to flt idle for landing, the CLs move back all the way, well below "AUTO". But they have to be sitting in AUTO for the hydraulic pumps to work. So I lose all brakes, and I roll each time the length of the runway and off the far end. What setting would disconnect the throttle operation from the CLs?? The CLs should work correctly remaining in AUTO.

You must have the controller axis also connected to that function. Check in your controller profiles.

The question is: how can I set the throttle in order to move it on FI (flight idle). As shown in your video, the throttle goes directly from GI (ground idle) to Notch. While in flight, you should rather keep the throttle on FI. This make the transition from GI to Notch so rough that you either stall or overspeed. I can’t figure out how to solve it.

I did what you said. At first it seemed to get the job done but later it suddenly stopped responding to throttle input. If I click on the virtual throttle levers and at the same time move the hardware throttle back and forth it eventually moves to the correct position but that just shows that the problem is not in the way I configured it but that it's really a bug.
@RonInbar Жыл бұрын
I think I found the problem. Below the throttle levers there is a handle that stops the levers at the Flight Idle position and doesn't let it reach the Ground Idle position. When this handle is PUSHED (i.e. in Flight mode) the throttle doesn't move properly. When I PULL it (i.e. in Ground mode) everything works fine.

@@jonbeckett Here is how you configure the conditioning levers(not throttles) correctly on the TCA Airbus Quadrant or even the (Boeing quadrant, by using reverse switch as Toggle Feather Switch) You need the TCA Airbus Spoiler/Flaps add on. (or use 2nd throttle) 1. Remove all virtual button assignments from quandrant components in msfs ATR72 Joystick Profile, spoiler, throttle, flaps. 2. Set propeller axis to the SPOILER axis(REVERSE) on the TCA addon. 3. Set Toggle Feather Switch 1&2 to Joystick virtual button 31. Waiting to hear back.
@jonbeckett Жыл бұрын
@@krisiluttinen You don't need to do ANY of that - you just start from the default profile - which is pre-configured for the controller! If you have a version of the airbus that allows throttle calibration, just flatten the throttle curves in the profile, and go through calibration.
@krisiluttinen Жыл бұрын
@@jonbeckett Jon, here is a video of exactly what I mean: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jqaXo5eMrriSkK8 Yes I know, but this is for the CONDITIONING levers. Not the throttles. Those levers do not go all the way down into the engines cutoff position without my suggestion above, only if unbound an using the mouse, but with my suggestion above they can be mapped to the spoiler lever on the Airbus quadrant. Its those levers next to the throttle. Were you referring to these levers also? In default mode the levers are not mapped and will never go into engine cutoff(all the way down) hence my custom curve. As far as the throttle levers, I set them up as you suggested, started default, set the sensitivity curves to linear for both throttles and configured the rest on the EFB, no problems there. Now here is another bug/feature maybe you can help with, the parking brakes, cannot be properly configured to the brake toggle located on the right of your Airbus quadrant addon. No matter if they are bound to button 20, they do not release unless we physically move the ATR's brake lever with the mouse first. Then that "PARK BRK" toggle switch works as intended to release and engage parking brakes. However there is a problem with that, if we press the FREELOOK (HOLD) button in order to move around the plane, the brakes get released and the plane creeps up while waiting for takeoff. So we need to keep that in plane brake lever engaged to prevent this. Basically we cannot control the parking brake 100% with the quadrant park switch. They still need to be released with the mouse as button 20 cannot control the lever itself. (Hope this makes sense)

Ok, so, I have a newish problem, my condition levers won't move unless i bind them to an axis, and that axis won't let me put them in fuel shutoff mode, hence the lowest they go is 'feather/FTR' and as a consequence of that I cannot shut off my engines. Know you how to make the condition levers free again, so that I may control them only via mouse? Using Logitech X56 (new version)

Roll the mouse wheel on the condition levers

@@jonbeckett Yes, I'm sorry, this just causes the lever to revert back to where it was. As if something was keeping it, even though there is no bound axis or key. :(

Your values are strange... Ramp is 75 % so it can never be 0... I have ramp around 8000, nogtch around 0 and idle around -8000, then reverse at -16384 and 100% at +16384. Is this normal?

Nothing is normal in the ATR :)

Tried setting the throttle exactly as shown, my throttle 1 seems to slide back into idel detent every time i set it in Notch!! The hardware and the EFB, dont seem to get along well, any ideas?? Maybe i should delete the the plane redownload it again. The setting process is straight forward enough! 😒

Check the throttle axis mappings and sensitivity curves I guess - make sure nothing odd is going on that might impact it. You don't have another controller impacting the throttle axis do you ?

@@jonbeckett No other, have chosen a default sheet in the control options under My throttle page rename to Atr,and select L Axis x for1 and L AxisY for 2. When choosing the throttle mapping it ask if i want to overlay mapping from elsewhere,the box is empty, so how does that work out? I have done this many times before, without issues this mapping is really a challange!

After playing around with it, could be something with Ramp-Notch-idle, tolerance nummers setting not right!

On Xbox I had to make sure that the reverse axis was actually checked off for mine to work correctly! Weird.

I guess it depends which controller you have.

This video has been very helpful. But one problem, when I calibrate on the tablet, one throttle shows a very different value than the other one. For example, for the notch, Throttle 1 indicates a value of -4725 while Throttle 2 indicates a value of -8203. How can I solve this?
@jonbeckett8 ай бұрын
I imagine you have set the axis sensitivities differently in the controller profiles within the simulator.

This didn’t work for me - throttles don’t move at all in the cockpit when I increase/decrease thrust. Also, when I go into the throttle calibration on the iPad, it selects the same raw values for each indent, I.e idle, 50% and 75% are all the same value, even though the throttle is at different positions
