Thank you for this video. I bought the thudbuster G4 ST to go with my Brooks B17 saddle, but have issues with the horizontal adjustment of the saddle: no matter how hard I tighten the screw, the saddle always ends up tilting back and the position is therefore uncomfortable. How could I solve this ? I contacted Cane Creek customer service but they never responded The problem is really ennoying and makes the seat post almost not usable, which is a shame because the shocks attenuation is really efficient in itself. Thanks for any feedback you might provide.

Having exact same problem… really annoying. did you ever manage to solve it?
@laurentdubus6593 жыл бұрын
@@maxlalaev7720 not completely, but managed to fix it more or less by cleaning the parts which are inside the tube, and screwing the saddle very strongly. Seems pretty ok but sometimes tilts back again. However less than before. I think they realized the problem as the new one, the e-siilk has 2 mounting screws which must be much better. Apart from this very bad issue, the product itself is great. By the way, I never any response from the Cane Creek customer service, disappointing ! Good luck with yours !

I had the very same problem but SOLVED: you can loosen the inner clamps by simply pushing them out with an allen key, screwdriver or something else (needs a bit force to push them out the first time).They are just fixed quite solid in the beginning. But you can see in the vid that they can bee loosened (1:23). Afterwards you can easily adjust the seat horizontally.

@@wanderer6611 Same here. Solved as well as per comments above. Easier to do that to explain.

I have the original Thudbuster ST. Never had a problem with it. Also, never had a need to change the elastomer.

Just installed an ST on my Specialized with a Brooks B17 - was a tad tricky setting up, will give it a shakedown during tomorrow’s 35 miler. (Had just put an LT on my Fat Tire E-Bike last week)

I have just installed this, it only came with a #3 elastomer and no instructions in the retail packaging. Maybe I did something wrong, but it feels either no different or indeed slightly worse in terms of any sort of smoothing than the Cube suspension post that came with the bike. I weigh 63kg. I do not know if I need a different elastomer, I ordered a #1 from my bike shop, it was an ST elastomer but it did not say whether it would be right for my weight nor compatible with a Thudbuster ST G3/2020. I am totally unimpressed so far and dreams of a comfortable ride have been shattered.

I'm looking at the ST version for my touring bike. My frame is an older model, with the top tube horizontal (parallel to the ground). As a result, my seat post clamp sits fairly high relative to other bikes. My current seat post is inserted pretty deep into the seat tube. I'm not sure that I have room for the ST version. The clearance between the top tube and the seat itself is relatively small compared to other bikes. Does anyone know the distance that the rails of the saddle would be from the seat post clamp if I inserted the ST version all the way down?

Hi. A bit late to the party here. There is a slight lateral ‘play’ when pressure is applied to the saddle. From what I can see (without additional assistance) this is due to the construction / linkage as opposed to a solid seat post. Would this be the case from other experiences?

My new thudbuster I can't adjust saddle tilt, the inside saddle rail channels are totally stuck and won't move (rotate) at all. Only the outer channels move when I loosen the bolt. How can I fix this?
@marcinkwiatkowski99262 ай бұрын
Hi! Did you manage t fix it?
@francestyrrell61352 ай бұрын
Yeah, it took getting the manufacturer to send me a new mounting piece, which needs to be torqued down very strong, now it works without any slipping

No matter how hard I tighten the bolt, after an hour or so of riding, the saddle tilts to the back with the next mayor road bumpiness. Any ideas how to increase the friction of the bolt?

Chris P yeah it’s pretty aggravating. Luckily the vendor I purchased it from accepted the return and sent me a new one. But I’m active duty living over seas, so it’s not like I can take it to my local bike shop, the other commenter suggested. I sent cane creek an email asking for help and got no response

@rolfdiederichs4995 Жыл бұрын
what a stupid cunstruction of the sattle adjustment. It is not possible to allign the sattle when it is placed. You have to guess the propper position bevor placing the sattle, but that is not fit to the result you get. Also the sattle displaced after driving a while.🙈

Unfortunately, hardly any effect. I then installed the next softest elastomer (the softest of all). It was a little better, but it didn't meet my expectations by a long shot. Very disappointed with this product.
