What is the height of your vehicle to the top of the bars and then to the top of the case? Also the height of your garage opening? I am dealing with a 71” tall mini van to the top of the rails and then an 83” garage opening and I am not thinking this unit will clear it.

What i would like to know is what it looks like NOW. 6 years later. Any videos?? All of the videos i see are of people installing them new... i see some reviews say they scratch and crack etc but literally the only videos of them crackes are physically damaged and i havent seen any showing normal scratches from wear...

I only use mine about 1-2 weeks out of the year, so I'd have to say that it looks almost as good as new. Just clean it up after each use and store it out of the way. No cracks or damage - but mine doesn't see heavy/extended use, either.

I love the design of this roof box. It suits your modern styling Subaru very well! I was thinking of outfitting my 2001 Xterra with one as well. How does it stand against highway wind and noise?

You get some wind noise, more so at high speeds (65+mph), but it's not bad at all. Thanks for watching and for the compliment!

When installing on the standard Subaru crossbars, did the knobs make the loud 'click' noise when tightening? I have the same setup and can't get the locked in 'click' even when tightening extremely tight. Thanks!

Yes. They clicked when they become locked on tight. Assuming you have the same box, that’s how they should work.

No. I haven’t bought any travel bags. I just throw my stuff in the box and go.

Yes. Factory crossbars. Haven’t had any issues with the locks or latches even after all these years.

do you get any water in it if it rains? i am mounting it on my suv which i also use as a "camper". do you think it would rattle around at night making noise when i am sleeping in my camper with this on top? thank you!

Hi. It’s super rain-proof for me so far. Never had a sign of water inside even after driving thru heavy downpours. It shouldn’t rattle as long as you have the “claws” tight around your crossbars. Happy camping!

I think your video made up my mind. I've been debating the Yakima skybox and this rack for my 2018 fully loaded Outback. I have just one question. I've read that you might want to use locktite on the Subaru screws that come with the integrated side rails and crossbars. Did you? Have you noticed those loosening when you use the box?

I haven’t ever had an issue with the cross rails and the roof box. I’ve since gotten rid of this 2017 and now have a 2018 - really wanted Apple CarPlay 😁

No idea if it does. I don’t use XM, but you could be right since the back of the box does sit just over the antenna.

It barely fits! It actually brushes the weather strip on the top edge. I might have 1” of clearance before it hit solid material. Any taller and it would be a problem.

I was very nervous putting my brand new beach cruiser on this rack. kzbin.infoUgkxG6JIgwJhur8_Rg8UeQ3EmePzi_wSncL8 But after reading many reviews I decided to get this one and take a chance. When arrived it was very simple to adjust and put together. I also added spike tape over the metal hooks before securing and tightening the straps, and no scratches. I also purchased the top bar made by the same company so that my cruiser sits straight on the rack without having to turn upside down. Extra bungee cords are used to secure the front wheel from flapping and even piece of mind knowing your bike is secure. Definitely recommend...
