The concept behind this product is brilliant. It's definitely something I would consider because it solves my problem. I don't want a rooftop tent on my car, and I prefer not to have a trailer. Most important it can be a basecamp leaving vehicle free for other use. I also appreciate the quick setup times for late-night setups and early morning pack-downs, as a long-term Thule customer, I appreciate their products. However, this product seems like a first version and not something I would actually purchase. I would love to see the next iteration of the product development. It's just too big for my preference; I'd prefer a king single or double size (like a 1.2m rooftop tent). It's also a little on the heavy side for some smaller cars. The setup is a bit too involved, and the price is way off the mark. I really hope they see some success and development, as it has lots of potential in my opinion.

So, blocks the backup camera, adds more lights for some reason, need to take off and install lic plate before driving off, then to open the trunk, one must disconnect the 80kg weight from the hitch? Driving with it attached reduces the vehicle departure angle severely, whilst the open sides will collect dirt as one does when in nature. Form over function!

lots of easy and cheap remedies for the points you've made. BT backup camera, velcro license plate holder, and I'm guessing the unit could also be mounted to a swing away hitch carrier, though I'd have to see it up close to be sure. In addition, a swing away hitch mount would give you back your dep angle depending on the manufacturers unit you select. As for the dirt. Use your hose. In short...put your thinking cap on and be ingenious! 🙂
