None of this review makes any sense. I really don't remember a time when I actually needed multiple pens on the go, let alone needing separate pen holders. The typical pen holder config always seem to be a waste of stitching. Even if you need multiple pens, there are plenty of room in that left pouch. And I have never came across any organiser where you can open up completely like a book so I can have a good look at what I have. I usually have a good idea what I have inside each pocket anyway. The side access should open up on the left so a right-handed person can take the weight off their right shoulder, kind of "sling" it to the left and take out whatever they need using their dominant hand. All camera sling bags are like that. So I use this bag as my electronic travel bag and it carries my 17 inch laptop, my portable secondary monitor, e-reader and A5 paper notepad. This is a serious travel workstation. I think the only thing I miss is the serum strap. This review is good because it's so thorough with attention to details, but it feels really weird because it's done in such a bizarre subjective manner.

Right handed people should swing over the left shoulder. Not sure why people do it the other way. First, you don't want to have to deal with the watch bump on the left wrist. Second, you want to be able to reach with the right hand.

I wouldn't say we "should" do it this way, but I definitely almost always DO do it this way, too! I'm always amazed by so many "tactical" bag makers (Maxpedition, e.g.) who make the strap of a small messenger bag type thing go over the left shoulder (& not built for ambidextrous carry) -- I don't want a bag (or anything else) getting in the way of my dominant arm. Thanks for validating me on this, exergy one!

the bag has no issues but for your needs i would say a plastic bag would be perfect, no zippers to forget to close, your files would go great there :))))

Completely. This is ridiculous 😂😂

Regarding main pocket organization, it makes perfect sense to have an 11 inch pocket, file or magazine pocket and an laptop pocket. Who is using a 12inch iPad and a laptop? Not many people and 11 or 10 inch and a laptop, almost everyone. And still you can use the file pocket together with 12 inch, if you really need to…

A perfect bag for me after 20 backpacks (arcteryx, Gregory, Osprey etc.) purchasing and using experience. Thule is not a brand dedicate for backpacks, but it’s product team literally knows how consumer uses product everyday.

Thank you so very much for this review. I was considering buying this bag a couple years ago, especially when I found it on really good sale, as a carry-all for my mobile office. I just saw another review earlier today in which the reviewer gave the bag pretty high praise, & I was starting to think about purchasing this again. The reason I didn't before: a number of people were complaining that the stitching attaching the bottom to the bag was coming undone (I'm guessing you hadn't heard about this since you didn't mention it in the video). Do you know by any chance if Thule has revised the bag recently (perhaps to address this flaw, even if not being explicit about it)? Thanks again, & I'm glad I found your channel -- & yeah, I subscribed. Take care, & I look forward to watching more of your reviews & cross-over first impressions!

I've had this bag for coming up on a year now with almost daily use, and it's been nothing but perfect. I can't find a bag that works better for me honestly.

@@AddemRectorhow’s the bag for you currently? Looking at buying one on sale but I’ve heard the same issue about the bottom stitching. I bike and commute a lot so that’s pretty important for me

If you carry a thicker laptop, given the design of the top entrance, it is difficult to take it out. It is easier to take out from the side entrance. That is my experience with all my thule bags. I still find their designs to be good though. To secure the side entrance and the laptop section, you can use a colorful carabiner and attach both zipper loops into that colourful carabiner. That is how i prevent forgetting to zip the laptop compartment.

Very detail review. I buying a Nomatic travel bag, but same time I wanted a more rugged crossover day pack. I use to have a victorinox altmonth 2.0 that only have laptop compartment on the side i forgot to rezip while passing the security check point my laptop drop and my screen spoiled. You review having too much possibility scenario that could happen and some on your personal preference. maybe some user may different opinion on it. But thanks for highlighting and given a in depth review that some other review might not realize.

I'd rather have quick access to the organiser to reach for keys or a pen. I mostly use main compartment for clothes, food, etc.

ordered this and the Thule Crossover after trying and returning 12 others; know you have reviewed the Rainmaker, I would've bought that first if not for the final sale issue; Comfort is #1 for my son (college); for all of these it seems capacity's boxes are checked so I would love someone who's actually had all on his back; books will be heavy; mind weighing in?

this bag reminds me of the north face kaban or kabyte. you should try adding a water test section to these reviews.

I can't imagine having such silly subjective criterion for a bag review. This was a really long-winded exercise in a reviewer who has lost the plot in what a bag "should" be based on a hyper-specific and bizarre use case.

Have this bag been disconituned? I can't find if on thule website and new paramount 27L doesn't have this side pocket with organizers

You should combine the first look and review videos. When i want to know about a product I like to see the features and benefits as well as the reviewer's opinion in one video - i dont want to watch 40 minutes of content about one backpack

I think your channel is great. Tbh it’s one of the best bag review channels I’ve ever seen. However I think your biggest downfall is your thumbnails and camera quality. Your thumbnails are outdated like a 1990s windows wallpaper for a MySpace account. Other than that amazing content
