Thule Tour Rack Unpacking - Installing - Riding

I had been organizing a bikepacking adventure, necessitating more luggage than usual. Consequently, I procured a specialized tour rack from Thule. To my delight, the quality of the rack exceeded my expectations. I acquired mine at a reduced price, and the set accompanied by the yellow bags came with a fantastic promotion.

After traveling with my tour rack through the Alps, I never had any problems with it. On the first day, I tightened the rack a little bit more just to make sure because I was riding on pretty rough terrain. A couple of times, I overloaded the rack because of some grocery shopping, but it was able to take some extra weight. I am really happy with the rack and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable and sturdy tour rack for their bikepacking adventures

I think I I would have placed both the carrier and the panniers on a soft mat for assembly if I bought them 😮

Hi. Did you use a sadle bag on your trip or was that bag on top of the Thule rack as well? And also, how much weight did you take in the panniers? Thx for this helpfull video.

Hello, inalso used the sadle bag, it was not om the Thule Rack. You van carry 10kg with the Rack. Ik started at home with 8kg in the bags. Sturing the trip i somethimes carried more when i bought some food and drinks. I was really positieve surprised by the Thule Rack. It works very good and is very stable.

Any comment on how this setup holds up on rocky and rooty descents? Does is shake apart or remain relatively composed?

I didn't take much fast really bad descents. When i am at a rooty descent i slow down a lot. For the short time on rooty descents with speed it was holding without any problem. i was affraid it would break, but afterwards it always looks pretty ok everything still at it's place.
