Looking at Rousselle and Young, perhaps hesitate on trading middling minor league talent in the 3 star area who have good development traits, they represent distinct possibilities to turn into good players later on. For people bashing draft strategy and picks this year and previous ones: I think these are just the quality of the picks you have to make when you are selecting in the 30's. It's rare that a player I massively covet is ever available that far down unless I was seeing them as maybe a high second rounder

Hey Bailey, Chris MacFarland's defensive ZR is bad bc his Infield Range is only 55. A 55 to 60 range increase at 2B is game-altering. I'd even go for a minimum 65 IF range at 2B. The same thing happens with going from a 65 range to 70 range shortstop.

100% this. 55 range even though it's green ... too bad the arm isn't there otherwise that's 3B material even though the turn DP is amazing. Edit: to be fair 55 range at 2B can still sometimes do decently over medium or even long periods, but it's probably best to assume league average or worse. Obviously "average" depends on who else is playing 2nd in the game...

Having an elite one as a closer is great but you can literally just sign 2.5 star vets on one year deals every offseason and still have a great bullpen. Don’t need to waste a top pick on a guy who won’t become a starter

Just had an 18th rounder out of LSU fly though the minors in 2 seasons 3* 4 pitch mix with all stats over 50, movement 70 25 stamina but could I try and improve that and start him down the road?

Could be worth trying out. Although the “stuff” rating decreases when you move from reliever to starter so just be weary of that in case you didn’t know that before. Elite closer though
