Thousands of miles away from its Chicago home, footwork is inspiring a group of Japanese dancers and DJs to dig deep into the Windy City's highest energy musical export. Check out 'Meet The Era' - A Chicago Footwork Documentary: bit.ly/2lYzObO

I'm from Chicago the Englewood District and the first time that I had seen someone do some Footwork was in 1986. One of the guys was from around the crib was going at with this cat from out the 220's Building on 63rd. It's amazing that this style of dance still inspires people and now it's Worldwide. What would this World be like without Black People? I'm Proud of Being Black.

Just wanted to drop in and say thank you for respect for Chicago House culture. I'm a Chicago native, grew up in the 90's with friends in dance troupes and the whole club scene in the 2000's; it's unexplainable to see people from a different country treat it with the utmost respect and passion. Thank you so, so much.

My man summed it up. These guys are good, but they have a ways to go. Reason being is that Chicago footworking is more than just dancing. Chi-town cats have the spirit of struggle, death, and despair in those steps. No matter how much you practice or try to learn the intricacies of it, the fact that you didn't grow up in that situation has a lot to do with it. Props though to those Japanese cats for recognizing the skill and talent that goes into it.
