It amazes me that, even though I've been on a hiatus from this game (or even recording/streaming in general) and have been dethroned for a while, you all are STILL coming to see this video and share your excitement and support. Just wanted to say I love you all. I've been looking for a reason to come back and try my hardest at something new.

@@MasDouc ​True, there aren't any mistakes, but there are still some things I could have done to earn more points: 1) Perfect turns. I definitely missed a few in 9-27+ and ∞, even some optional ones in the earlier stages. 2) Delayed pounds on thumps. If timed correctly you'll kill an extra tentacle to earn another 50 points. I think there's only one frame where that's possible, so it's *very* timing-specific. You'll see me do this at the 0:27 mark. 3) Optimize routing. A level's default route (hitting all red bars, flying through all rings, etc.) isn't going to max out your score. Under specific circumstances and at certain parts of every level, you are better off flying over red bars, skipping certain rings, or making consecutive jumps for infinite flight to create more bonus thumps that would otherwise not exist. You can find other videos on 9+ with higher scores that will show this.

Watching this in the middle of 2020. I still love that it feels like the very final boss couldn't stop you with its giant skull monster, so it tried everything in its own power to stop you, even altering the speed. When you beat him... It's almost like the game was saying, "this isn't supposed to happen", and it just... Stops. No after ending scene, no continuation, you just get to the very end of the light, and suddenly... Nothing.

I always thought about this even the very first time i saw gameplay footage of this game. Its just feel like it tells a story... When you get to the end, you expect something to happend but no... there's nothing. Like if the game telling you: " you wanted to get to the end so bad? Here you go, your "end" is here."

Definitely helps that the levels are static, if they were dynamic at these kinds of speeds it'd have to be a good bit easier to be possible to perfect.

Yeah, I've done 9+ a number of times. After a while you start remembering the sequences of stuff that come at you, which makes it a lot less dependent on reflexes and speed and more about remembering the rhythm. AFAIK the only part in the game that is random and not static is the mid-level boss on level 6, and still, that's just random, occuring sequences taken from level 6 being thrown at you.

But this here is absolutely insane; I can only imagine the time and effort put in to achieve such a feat. I adore this game (besides Level ∞) and commend you once again. Damn.

Yar, this is the base 4x speed! No speed up here. You can confirm by looking at the start of the video, which shows the game at normal speed before it increases when the 4x multiplier is reached. With plenty of practice your muscle memory will kick in and you'll breeze through it like it's second nature. Doubting yourself will only serve to paralyze you! :3
