Fell in love with this mech's unique profile. And have had a blast playing with it on the tabletop. Running the A9 with everything upgraded to clan level and the saved weight put into armor, making it a tanky medium sniper platform that loves to leap into action. Too bad about its unfortunate roots...

Wow this sounds awesome. As a Word of Blake player I have a biased opinion of it's roots 😬. It looks pretty adaptable but like all quads expensive for what you get. Glad it's working out for you though, I need to run it on tabletop to get a feeling for it

The Blackjack was originally built to be the Star League's armored boot for stomping on insurrections, riots, protests, and the hopes and dreams of everyone who didn't like being "reunified," but it has gone on to be generally accepted as a decent medium mech. Maybe people will like the Thunder Fox too after a few centuries?

Thanks for listening. I love the blackjack, played it till mid game in my first HBS play through and love how versatile it in tabletop. You are correct though, if the mech hangs around long enough, they can turn their image around. I am sure this guy will too, though quads get viewed very differently to bipeds I have found.

@@battletopia As a fan of big stompy robots, I really like the bigger quad mechs because they are, in fact, twice as stompy as biped mechs! In terms of practical use, I've had a lot of fun in BTA 3062 with using Siroccos as artillery platforms. I think of them as VERY Mobile Long Toms with medium lasers for backup instead of machine guns.

Thanks for tuning in, I know! The second I finished it, I emailed Sean and just said "wow". I love the human stories like this battletech. Don't get me wrong 'mech on 'mech is fun, but the human side is amazing when you get down to it

Thanks for listening. I shall pass that onto Sean for consideration, though part of me hopes he doesn't assissinate another one of my babies 🤣

I was not up to date on any of the Jihad stuff for a long time, but this is exactly the kind of storytelling I love. Do you leave behind a distasteful machine due to its history of being used for atrocities, or do you take the design on offer despite its horrific legacy because it's cheap and readily available?
@battletopia10 ай бұрын
Thanks for listening. The Jihad is a great era, dark age too. Everything gets recycled eventually I believe. The Ilkhan is prove if that with lots of old designs making a comeback. Also I do play Word of Blake so I like the original, I also play Republic of the Sphere, so like the upgrade too 😉
