took my very first nitro rc (self build) for a ride today and i'm impressed how fast it go's... just need to work some bugs out of it like the leaking manifold, the idle speed and set the wheels up so it drives in a straight line during acceleration

@@hybrid32494 i have a "ACME Cyclone SH.18nitro" and the whole car was cheap :-p 177€ for the entire kit, but there were also building bugs that made me spend an other 24€ to fix them.... and now i have to spend some more cash at the leaking engine #LOL #NothingButFun

I have that car but just snapped the pull string. I got it cheap as the guy never knew anything about it and it sat for years. He left fuel in it but its clean now. Where can i get parts for this. Cheers

hey man! thanks for watching! Sorry to hear about the pull start snapping. Your best bet is to cruise some eBay listings, these older RC's are not easy to get parts for. Especially since it's a thunder tiger, a brand that was never that popular in the USA. If you have any other .18 or .15 size engines, try some trial and error with other pull starters. One might fit.

So I actually did not tune the motor at all during these runs, that's why it was like that, but surprisingly with all that smoke it did not bog down at all. My only goal was to heat it up and make sure no fuel issues were there. Soon, top speed runs. I say maybe 47 MPH.

hey man!! Totally agree, nothing like a nice nitro on-road. There are almost none left at this point, so I will be looking for older used ones. Most on-road cars today are just copies of 1/8 buggies with road tires, so they are not unique at all.

Sweet car. I have a tmaxx that I am using for a project. I have seen only 1 video on KZbin that had rear steering. So I am going to add rear wheel steering for 4 wheel steering just like the big boys. Ya I know it's crazy but what the heck I want to try after I get a few problems ironed out.

hey my Nitro Gang member. Start with fully removing the High Speed Needle from the carb and cleaning it. Then just blow through the fuel lines into the carb while opening and closing the throttle, you just want to clear the passage ways if it's not too bad.

Thunder Tiger always make good cars and principally engines for cars and planes. I like this Tomahawk but the only downside to me is not hear the gears shifting.

whats up man!! Exactly, nothing like the joy and fun from running a nitro touring car. Electrics can never do this. BTW, that live speed gauge is a feature of the Gopro cameras. They have built in telemetry and can record it when it's enabled. You will need additional software ( called Quic) to overlay the GPS data on the video. All go pros hero above 5 have GPS, the gopro 7 white, does not.

hey Nitro Mike!!! I'm telling you, you gotta find one of these, it literally might be better in the stock form than any Nitro RS4. Engine has loads of power and high RPM, and I was only running 20% nitro here. Also significantly less torque steer and drive hubs without pins.

I have a nitro drifting car, with the same clutch as yours, and it advances slowly when I release the break. If the tune of the engine, and the throttle arm is correctly mounted in the servo, could this be due to the springs in the clutch? Mabey they are too weak to hold the clutch shoes?

hey buddy!! Sounds like your car is not staying still at idle. Have you correctly set your Idle gap in the carb? That is the main thing to check first, they you go to lowering the throttle trim until the engine RPM is lower and clutch does not grab. LEt me know. Ofcourse the springs could also be responsible, but much higher chances of it just needing to be tuned.

Thank you for the reply. I was rebuilding the clutch and one of the shoes is pulled down just by its own weight. So I'm guessing it's the spring that's too weak. The engine seems to idle good. I might put a rubber band around the clutch shoes to see if it helps.

@@jfieifm no problem, I'm always glad to reply and help out. Yes, your clutch shoe should be pretty hard to move with your own hand, it should not be loose. Check to see If the spring is correctly installed to begin with. The rubber band will do nothing, it will instantly just bind against the inside of the clutch bell. Chances are the spring in incorrectly installed, check. Is it the same setup as in my car? I showed the clutch springs part 4 of this series.

Its the same clutch as yours (it looks different but the mechanism is the same, it has those clothes hanger springs) . I must've overstretched one of the springs when putting the clutch back together, and now its deformed. I'll try and reform it with some pliers. That might help.

Hey buddy! Welcome to my channel. Most Nitro RC's do not have reverse, usually only the larger 1/8 scale nitro trucks do. Reverse for a nitro is a pretty complicated system and requires a separate gear mechanism and usually a third channel and more servos. I've got some videos on my channel with nitros which do have reverse though.

hey my dude! The camera I used in this video is just a basic Go PRO HERO 7 silver. There are newer ones with ever better stabilization than this model. I currently use a hero 8 and its much better, all my new videos are with a hero 8 camera. I highly recommend it.

hey buddy!! thanks for watching. From my understanding the ts4n is faster when equipped with a 2 speed, as most of them are. This model is the base model and without the 2-speed. Although I'd say my top speed is about 45, I'll be doing some more testing soon.

yup dude, the Tomahawk is pretty solid compared to the older belt drivetrains. The belt system has a whole bunch of added pulleys and tensioners, hence the poor reliability, you know.

Hey buddy, thsnks for watching. You should not see fuel or oil anywhere on the motor at all. It sounds like either your glow plug is mot tight or the cooling head screws are loose. Does it seem to run poorly or weird? Check all your screws and glow plug, there are no openings for which fuel to come out of at all, in a normally functional nitro motor. Let me know.

hey bro! LOL, I got this thing to a top speed of 43 MPH in one vide, not sure if it was this one. Anyway, I have a trophy truggy flux, and I hate it. It strips diffs, is very low geared and needs too many lipos to even hit over 40 MPH. Did you see my Savage XL K5.9 speed runs video? Well let me tell you, it got 46 MPH in third gear.

hey man, you got this same car? The 39 MPH run with the on-board video was not a ful throttle run, I think this can do 45+, I will soon be using a real speed meter and getting it leaned out more, that will be fun!!

He looks like a scammer, guy has no friends and nothing worth looking at on his profile. Plus I can almost guarantee you the shipping won't be what the listing says. I would make that deal in person, but over the FB messenger transaction, its risky. See if you can use PayPal to cover urself..

hybrid32494 Costa Mesa California I agree I make my own nitro fuel I believe you do as well I’ve had my nitro for tech Traxxas 3.3 for six years still buying replacement parts and keeping it on the road same with my HPI savage XL I still have the original engine but cannot get a starter shaft they don’t make them anymore and I have an engine from Germany in there I like to race I have a Losi eight nitro buggy but don’t have a car to get me there got to fix my Traxxas nitro nitro today I have a couple of videos on my KZbin nothing professional like you but if you can ever come down here to Costa Mesa California I have a pretty awesome track in the backyard with a huge jump

hey man. Sounds like you're saying your car is difficult to tune because your idle is not consistent due to tuning issues. Have you played with the carb needles at all? Does it idle to high or too low? Check your idle gap in the carb it should be about .5mm-.8 mm. Let me know.

hey bro!! Yes, it's for sure way faster. The speed runs were faster, I just did not have my speed meter this day. I was not at full throttle when I was recording the on board runs, that's why I only got 39 MPH. Soon we will see top speeds for real..
