Another great yabby video. I like it when we get to see them as there are so many shell colour variations. I wouldn't be throwing those open top nets out so far, makes it easier for them to escape when retrieving

Thanks so much Pete. That was an amazing evening. I have been taking lightning photos for over 20 years, and that was the best evening that I have ever had. I was free, there wasn't too much rain, it was slow moving and I had a great vantage point.

They are still seem legal north of Vic unfortunately. it's seems largely unknown. Any chance you could educate a lil on the opera House nets and their safe usage...

Thanks so much Cam. I was using a DSLR camera, 14-24mm lens. ISO 100, F3.5 to F11 depending on how far away the lightning was, and 30 second exposures. The camera has to be on a tripod, with the lens in manual focus and focussed on infinity. I really hope that makes sense mate. It makes sense to me. LOL

Thanks mate. They can bury into the mud when I dam dries up, and can dig down as deep as 5 meters. Also, there is a table drain along the road beside the dam so they can walk in from other dams during high rainfall events, and then breed.

Interesting note, Bud Abbott earnt more than Lou Costello, especially in the early years. Due mainly to the fact a funny man was easy to find, but a good straight man was hard to find.

Thanks Stu. Groucho Marx is one of my favourite comedians of all time. Jack Benny a very close second. Some of the stuff that Mel Blanc done with Jack Benny is eye watering type or funny. I remember watching an interview with Groucho once where he stated that a good straight man was very hard to find. On his show "You bet your life" he had George Fennaman. One of the best TV shows ever made. Bill Cosby tried to reproduce the show in the 80s and failed. Nobody is as quick witted as Groucho.

You hit the mother load on that trip. It’s good to see they restock after getting dried out. Someone told me they bury themselves in mud while someone else said they travel around like the turtles do when it’s wet. Either way it good to see them back. Thanks Moo Moo. I actually have a yabby catch and cook coming out next week. I have filmed it but havent quite finished editing it. I usually just boil them, either whole, or just the tails. As for them burying into the mud, apparently they can dig as deep as 5 meters to stay damp. WOW

Those lightning photos were awesome! If I had a choice of Red fin, venison and dog food I’d definitely go for the fish first, then the deer then the puppy chow too. The choice of dog food matters greatly, I’ve never had better results than with ‘GoodOs’; just like my dog, the yabbies prefer that over ‘hard’ dry food. Bon appetite mate.
