@@king-xerxus7040 I saw Tom Jones last summer in Virginia. He had to sit, as he was awaiting a hip replacement; but his voice was still fabulous! No, he did not do “Thunderball.” Remarkable man!

While talented, this singer has tendencies to lead the music and rush the composition. She starts just a bit early with the lyrics and doesn't really sync with the music leading to an uncomfortable tempo. Having viewed the "Skyfall" track prior, she has proven that her tone and lack of emphasis on established scores leaves the performances a little lacking.

@@markgarcia8253, ya……that’s probably right too, ultimately. Goldfinger evokes so much musicality and nostalgia probably due to its amazing original recording more than anything. Thunderball on the other hand has some interesting string sections but is otherwise unremarkable. Now if they could combine Goldfinger’s vocal intensity with the string minor-key-ness of Thunderball…..that’s what some later Bond better themes did.
