I worked in a primary school, I showed the class of 10/11 year olds a clip of Joe 90, lots of explosions and jet fighters, im talking 2019, the kids were memorised, then I gave a talk and stated, everything you saw was done without any CGI not a computer in sight...all done by hand...Amazing Gerry Anderson and his team...

I loved Thunderbirds as a kid. I think it was the best of the Anderson shows. This brought back memories. Hated the live action they brought out in 2004. It was such an insult to this wonderful series.

Never understood why they said it didn’t do to well at the box office it’s superb and the improved sets and puppets were used in the final 6 episodes which I think was called series 2 Shame no more episodes were made if you have the 1968 book there was lots of plots including the Atlantic tunnel that would of been a great episode ,zero x even made it to captain scarlet 😊

Great trailer - but it does show most of the good bits, and give the ending away! Nothing has changed in 57 years of movie trailers! 🤔 😆😆😆

Surprised to see the Hood named as such in any on screen material from the time, although it's just a trailer I was always under the impression he was only ever named in the books and comics so this is fascinating to see!

He's named by Jeff in "Introducing Thunderbirds", the Century 21 mini-album, released in October 1965.

It's great to finally see a theatrical trailer shown in the same aspect ratio as the motion picture, especially this different version. The American version is matted which cuts off the picture on the sides. Too bad it was digitally restored.

Is that the voice of Bob Monkhouse ?

Yes.

@@century21films28Bob in his biography told the story how he got the role as voice artist for one of the crew of Zero X spacecraft. He went to studio 21 to get permission to use a model of stingray in a comedy sketch he had written for Des O Conner , and found Gerry Anderson , had something else on his mind. Bob asked him what the problem was , and Gerry said that Alfred Marks wanted more money to do a Zero X character, and this would push the film over budget. Bob said I would do it for free, and folk law says that Gerry’s reply was The Price Is Right.

Great film and the Zero-X assembly theme is my favourite. At 36 seconds, why did the narrator to this mention it as a cartoon?

Great trailer in the UK and it's way better than the US trailer and misadvertisement scene "As the Thunderbirds battles against the rock snakes on a dark planet" as well all know in film, it was the astronauts fight for their survival against the rock snakes on the dark planet!

It was a box office flop. The trailer doesn’t help. Gerry went back to TV after this.
@century21films28 Жыл бұрын
Gerry (and Sylvia - it was an equal partnership) made Thunderbird 6 and Doppelgänger after this. They didn’t stop making tv either. Thunderbirds Are Go didn’t flop - it just didn’t make more than Bond.

@@century21films28 It’s well documented that the film version failed to do great box office. The public preferred the TV show.

@@mediacityavid It is well documented that Gerry and UA were disappointed, which is not proof that it was a flop. Even Sylvia is on record saying they didn’t do as badly as Gerry claimed. It didn’t do the mega business they expected - and after being hyped up that hit them hard. Anyway, you said they went back to tv. The truth is the studio continued to produce tv shows during this period, but the senior management became more focussrd on profucing further films.
