This attempt was to try and restore how it originally sounded.

That's what I always loved about the Gerry Anderson Shows. It was made with puppets for a predominantly child audience. But he never treated it that way. To him, it required just as much time and effort a feature film for adults would need. Score included. Barry Gray wrote masterpiece after masterpiece for 'kids' shows.

I was so tempted to use the second part for a slow marching for a CCF drill competition, but I didn't do it in the end! I do regret that now! A fantastic piece!

The sequence where Zero-X finally crashes into the town had to be reshot and the whole set and Zero-X had to be rebuilt exactly piece by piece.

The amazing assembly of Zero X was a sumptuous ballet to the march of gladiators. As a kid I was spoilt rotten by such spectacle.

Same way the Space Shuttle wasnt, although in Zero X case it was for theatrical drama to show the massive scale of the Zero X (3 were built, 2 for the Martian Exploration Centre and one for Captain Scarlet's Spectrum)

Cause it consists of different parts that need to come appear/assemble. Main body: for high altitude and space travel, 2 lifting bodies: for take off and landing The cockpit/ mars exploration vehicle: to detach and land, explore and take off from mars Nose come: I guess for aerodynamics during takeoff. Only the main body and cockpit goes to space. Lifting bodies reattach during landing, to allow it to land safely. The craft is completely reusable It's actually rather realistic for movie standards

Love Zero-X but why did it have this torturously long assembly sequence? Why not just build the thing in one piece?

If you recall from Thunderbirds Are Go, the lifting bodies and nose cone jettison at a certain altitude, just before the craft leaves Earth's atmosphere, then the Martian Excursion Vehicle (MEV) detaches from the main body six weeks later.
