This was the best era for hardcore in my opinion. The beginning was crucial but was lacking sound quality because of what was possible on a technical level. After that, technology catched up and the possibilities grew, new artists came and the sound was perfected. The new age has more sound design and digital possibilities but in my opinion lacks soul, emotion and analog rawness. Thanks to Promo for taking us back to this era!

Uptempo and recent styles of hardcore are a nice new type of sound with the most bizarre kicks. But the style in this era has it all, great kicks, beautifull melodies, awesome screaming sounds. This was a more complete kind a hardcore..

i got into the hardcore scene about 3 or 4 years ago, i started with GPF and UOK so I learned to love uptempo, terror, everything loud n fast, but as of lately like the last few months since I went to defqon, i've really been starting to appreciate early hardcore and early gabber etc. its all really, really good, and its making me start to see why people say "oh hardstyle is dead" and allat other stuff. new stuff im throwing my hands up to, this old stuff im dancing to, its like 2 different worlds. Hardcore never dies, it just evolves, but even as it evolves, the early days wont be forgotten.
