Brady filmed this between October and December, 1940. It was released in January, 1941. Brady went on to become a distinguished combat photographer during the war and produced more of this type of film after the war.

This is one of the greatest time capsules I’ve ever seen, in color, exploring the British Empire at the height of its powers but already involved in a war that would take eventually down much of their empire (and the empires of the Dutch and French, also explored in this video) which in this region in particular caused a power vacuum and allowed for the onset of Communist influence, which a battered Nationalist/Classicalist China, and later America, could not help resist and by 1975 Thailand, Singapore, the Philippines and British Hong Kong were islands of Classical civilization in a Communist sea.
