For the first time since 2014, the roar of a double chimney Castle in full cry could be heard along the Great Western Main Line between Bath and Bristol. This audible treat was provided by Vintage Trains' flagship locomotive, 7029 'Clun Castle', working the 'Bath Christmas Market' railtour from Tyseley to Bristol and return. In this short video, we view the Castle from atop Ashton Hill, near Corston, following her progress along a near two mile stretch between Twerton Tunnel and Saltford. It's unfortunate that it had to be during what seemed to be the only patch of dark cloud to cast a shadow on the tour during the day. Nevertheless, Clun still makes for a stirring sight, as she pounds westward away from her short stop in Bath.
