Is there anything you would recommend to improve my dogfighting? Such as strategies to learn and tricks to use. I know a little bit about what I should do and how to use energy but other than that I don't know how to, for example, force a two circle like you did in this video. I just think I'd have a much better time if I could put my own successes and failures into and understanding of what I've done.

Just try the game dude, I see in so many comment sections for warthunder videos that people are curious about it but discouraged. The game is complex but if you understand its basic mechanics you can go far with it. I’ve been playing for about 2 years now and i have my American aviation crews up to top tier, I have Germany up to 8.3 and I have Sweden up to about 5.3 I think. I got a free 90% off coupon on any premium vehicle a while back from my daily package and I used it on the German G91 fighter jet, so that definitely helped boost my German research significantly. Like 10 fold. Do some research about the games inner workings (like premium services and how research works). Then give it a try if it still sounds good. Also don’t worry about the veteran players at low tiers, most of them are probably going to be playing at higher battle ratings. You will inevitably find skilled people at all levels though. Earliest battle rating is the most noob friendly, that’s where you want to learn how to gg early on basically.

Small point, this is a One Circle fight. One vs Two does not depend on nose/tail orientation, but whether or not you are turning towards vs away from each other. In this fight, you are both in the same “circle”. If you turn away from each other at the merge, you create a Two Circle fight where the two circles repeatedly re-merge. There is a good explanation of this with diagrams on Wikipedia under “BFM”
@user-fl7cu2bj5u3 жыл бұрын
Nice actually realistic dogfight rare in most war thunder games. I spent years studying energy retention and all the maneuvours under the sun but most people in war thunder just fly in on a circle fight that lasts more than 1 circle and spray you out of existence. Especially in lower tiers

That transition from the vertical rate fight to the rolling scissors technically can be called changing to a one circle fight, as the rolling scissors can only happen when one party exits the two circle fight. Beautiful use of a higher energy state, and forcing a fight in your favor. Because of missiles, or their potential, neither party could extend away
@MasoGhost7773 жыл бұрын
I don't think they ever entered a two circle though. It was always a tail chase. A two circle relies on forcing opposite directions to eventually merge. But, yes, scissors are a one circle.

Trying to learn here: What makes this a two circle fight vs a one circle fight?
@ThunderKills2 жыл бұрын
The one circle fight is where both planes try to point the nose at each other to make one circle. Turn radius and angle of attack matter in this fight. The two circle is where both planes try to chase each other's tails resulting in two circles (possibly overlapping). This fight is about turn rate like degrees per second as both planes try to come around their circle fast enough to catch the other guy. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Basic_fighter_maneuvers#/media/File:Circle_flow_in_fighter_combat.JPG
