I like that you give DETAILS and insight for how and why. Plus, you didn't edit out the "problems" you encountered IE crossing the other line, one-man netting awkwardness, picking up zebras, and boat control. Your techniques and explainationss give me encouragement to keep at it.

Ivo I was down your way as my son in law was hit head on by a driver who feel asleep due to sustance abuse (at highway speed in both vehicles at the time of the impact.) I was wondering if one day I could take him to meet you once he is recovered as he loves fishing even if it was just from shore. He can barely walk at present but it would be something to look forward to as a goal. We are so blessed that he survived and I would love to do a father in law /son fishing trip out your way. Thanks so much for yrs of fishing education and entertainment by one of the most polite decent human beings I have ever seen on a fishing video. Besides being one of the best fishermen I have seen as well. Thanks!

so sorry to hear about such a tragic accident, but happy that your son-in-law survived and in recuperating, and hope he will be able to walk again. keep me posted on his progress :)

That was a great video ivo. I am slowly getting into walleye fishing after years of bass and pike. So learning a new technique (as I always have seemed to do over the past 10 plus years watching u and the boatless angler) will help me to put more in the bag. Thanks for sharing your info and love for fishing.

Hello IVO . . . What a super day you had fishing for walleye also a picture perfect day with a few over head clouds and Lake Erie having little waves - what else can you ask for right - bet you can't wait to get home to cook all those fish - Oct. 13 is my Birthday and I keep hinting my family to buy me the stink eye lure my fingers are crossed - good video .

Thanks again, Evo! Tried my Hobie kayak out of Sterling Park at Brest Bay with several techniques a few weeks ago, but got skunked. Flat calm days don't happen often and the day I was out was in 7 mph south winds with 1-2 ft. waves. 70 miles one way, so it won't be a frequent trip. Nonetheless, your video gets me inspired to watch the weather and try again.

at the eastern bassin, the S/W winds are the worse for waves, but in a kayak, you want to visit when there are 5km winds or less :)

How deep are the fish? Doesn't it give them the bends if they come up from deep water? Are you using a rubber net. I know they work really well.

With so many techniques for walleye, how do you choose ?
@thundermistlures3 жыл бұрын
if you need to cover lots of water, then trolling is the way to go - otherwise, jigging is preferred :)

Hi Evo, great video!! Really appreciate the constant education..With all of that line out so far back, how did you know that your lure wasn’t deep enough and kept coming up before you added more weight?? Thanks!
@thundermistlures4 жыл бұрын
if you can not feel bottom, then you know you need to add more weight :) Even with lots of line out, you can still feel the weight hit bottom :)

With all that weight what size line and rod are you using?
@thundermistlures5 жыл бұрын
...20 lb test line and 2 different rods, but if you use a downriggfer rod, it will easily handle :)

I wouldn't say healthy walleye, a lot of pollution and stuff in the fish.
