Hello. Thanks a lot for this video. I enjoyed it and good work. I bought some TA stuff and organized them today. Trying to play solo. Question, are all of the expansions compatible with each other?

All of the Thunderstone Advance expansions are compatible with each other. From what I understand there is limited compatibility from Thunderstone to Thunderstone Advance. There is zero compatibility between Advance and Quest. Thanks for watching, ABC! Really happy you enjoyed the video!

im gonna be learning to play this on Friday but I'm not sure if I'm looking at the right version - apparently there was an original kick-starter game and a bunch of expansions, then they stopped making it for a few years, then they came out with a new game that combined previous renditions of the game, and that's the one I'm gonna be playing, does anyone know what that one is called? its the newest version

The original was called Thunderstone. It had a lot of expansions and then was revamped with a second edition called Thunderstone Advance. Technically the first and second editions could be combined but eventually most of the first edition was released in expansion form for Advance along with plenty of additional expansions. To my knowledge both of those were normal retail releases (no Kickstarter). Then just recently Thunderstone Quest was kickstarted and is VERY different from the previous editions. During that Kickstarter numerous expansions were created as stretch goals. Likely you’ll be playing Quest.

cool, thanks, apparently it's a pretty complicated game so I wanna see if I can get some advance knowledge before our game club learns to play it

Hi, how does this game rank actually in your collection ?
@BoredOnlineBoardOffline4 жыл бұрын
These days it’s fallen out of my Top 30 favorites. However, it’s still in the Top 10 (maybe Top 5) most played of all time just because of how much I loved it at one point.

I also like divine healer :) but there is another cleric, with more attack and better levels, which i like better

Do you remember what it's called? I don't think it's in either of my sets.

Chalice quester - fighter cleric. It's from the first Thunderstone

I see you didn’t take a familiar after your first victory. Is this an optional rule? Could that be why you’ve never won? :-)
@BoredOnlineBoardOffline5 жыл бұрын
For a minute I thought maybe I missed some major rule after all this time because I had no idea what you were talking about. After doing some research though as far as I can tell Familiars are specific to Towers of Ruin (which I don't have). I can't find any mention of them in the Numenera or Worlds Collide rule books.
@Hakucho645 жыл бұрын
@@BoredOnlineBoardOffline yes, it's in Towers of Ruin, but I was assuming that was the base set for Advance. I guess it's not.

Towers of Ruin is a little unusual in that it has 3 base sets. When I got into TSA, Towers of Ruin had just gone out of print and all the available copies were $150+ so I quickly picked up Numenera and Worlds Collide (the other two base sets).
