Wish everyone would stop saying "we win sunday we are guaranteed 2 home games." Ummm no. You are guaranteed 1 home game that you need to win. Lose and you go home to watch the 2nd game. But first lets take care of the Jets so we can rest our starters week 18 against the Pats. Go Bills!!!!

Yeah I don’t think anyone is saying that as if they’re entitled to both home games in the playoffs, just that they are guaranteed 2 home games so as long as they keep winning.

Pretty sure that McDermott and the Bills were far from pleased with the first half of the Pats game, so I at least expect the Bills to come out with high energy. They are usually better in the second half anyway, but coming out strong in the first half (offensively and defensively) will bode well in the end. Bills 28-13.

As long as we put away these Jets at home Sunday, we won’t have to go on the road but to Kansas City if in the AFC Championship as long as they win their playoff game

Hate to be the pessimist but there is absolutely no way we beat baltimore with the worst 3rd down defense in the league. They would torch us

@@BuffaloMotivatedYou’re wrong. The ravens defense was worse than the Bills early in the year. But unlike Buffalo they have actually improved on defense, in almost every category as the season has gone on. Maybe, and hopefully they will go back to being bad, but just look at what the Ravens defense has been the past 3-5 weeks, it’s way better than you would think. The best we can hope for as Bills fans is that Babich figures it out these last 2 weeks, and then manages to keep it rolling all the way through the superbowl. We’ve seen, more than once what happens when the defense is trash in the playoffs. So we already know what to expect if Babich can’t figure it out. And both statistically, and by watching the game this is the worst defense the Bills have had since 2020. The last thing we want is the Bills going into the playoffs having to rely on shoot out after shoot out, it doesn’t work. Teams like the 07 patriots and 13 broncos prove that a great offense is never enough in the playoffs. You can also add in ALL the Bills Super Bowl teams, the Broncos of the 80s, the 2016 Falcons, and the 2017 patriots as proof that defense really matters in the playoffs. There is some hope though, the 05 Steelers, 07 Giants, 10 packers, and 11 Giants all won superbowls by the defense getting really good right as the playoffs started. Either way the saying “defense wins championships” is one of the truest statements you’lol ever hear. There’s almost 60 years of proof that it’s true.

@BuffaloMotivated That's exactly what we'd have to do. Josh isn't nearly as consistent as Lamar... hence him not being able to close out the MVP thus far in his career. So, to beat the Ravens Josh would have to have games like he did with the Rams and Lions... and while he had played well with the weapons he has... they are still the weapons he has... which isn't great.

@@SonofStormblessedlmao dude the entire defense has been sitting with injury. Relax.

I keep hoping that if I’m consistently negative about how terrible Babich is on 3rd down, and about how extremely reliant the defense is on turnovers just to be adequate, that I’ll be ultimately proven completely wrong. Allot of times in the past when I’ve been very negative about a specific issue, McDermott and Co. has fixed that issue. And yes I know it’s superstitious B.S., but man this team has got to fix the defense to even just have a chance at winning the superbowl. And the one person (I’ve believe Smiley is a completely lost cause) a superbowl hinges on more than anyone else is Bobby Babich. It’s ultimately up to him to figure out a way, with whoever they got playing to get stops on more than %60 of the opponents drives. There’s only so much the offense can do, as the last 5 years have shown. To win a superbowl the defense doesn’t need to be great, but they need to be at least above average. Giving up 7/12 3rd downs against a crappy team like NE isn’t even remotely good, or acceptable. Of course the defense is pretty terrible on 1st and 2nd down too, but man can we at least be average to above average at one of them? It would mean so much. I mean seriously if you take away all the extremely lucky turnovers, this team would be 8-7 right now. And history has shown, relying on turnovers in the playoffs is a bad idea. You do want turnovers, but the defense had to find ways to play well when they ultimately don’t happen against a team like the Chiefs or the Ravens, let alone the Eagles or the Lions again. God I hope Babich gets this figured out, more than anyone knows. I don’t care about the injuries, every team has those at this time of the year. I don’t care about the talent level, the truly great coaches figure it out anyways. It’s time for Babich to prove he’s at least a good coach. But if he could be great the sky is the limit with this team. Please Bobby for the love of god, WE ARE ALL counting on you to improve, and to improve quick. Will you step up to the task and stand strong, or will you wilt? I sure hope you stand strong and show your greatness.

I keep hoping my negativity about this defense proves me wrong eventually too. Without turnovers or opponent stupidity (backward passes) they are really struggling to make stops. In the playoffs they will need to steal a possession or two from the opponent. It kills me that NE executes a fake punt against us while I have no faith in the Bills converting a fake punt.

They have never fixed their late game issue of giving up leads and losing key games because of it. They always go into that soft zone no blitz prevent defense at the end of games, often way too early and they consistently give up late scores, many time leading to heartbreaking losses. And even when they rarely do blitz, they usually are still in a zone letting the opposing qb get rid of the ball quickly to receivers that are wide open off the snap.

Stop using the old 'passer rating' metric to rank QBs - look at how it has Tua ahead of Allen. It's a horribly flawed rating system. Better to use the new QBR metric that measures all of a QBs contributions including scrambling ability. Why do people just set half of a QBs contributions to the side when rating a QB? It's 2024, dual threat QBs are now the norm not the exception, and a QB like allen is the perfect example of the ideal QB which is why he is consistently 1 or 2 in QBR. A rating system that has Tua ahead of Allen should be retired.
