Judge Boyd, it was a pleasure meeting you in person. I am really glad to have met you today at the airport. You have inspired me to continue my studies towards becoming an immigration attorney. Your spirit shines both in person and on screen. Your compass definitely points towards fairness and justice and Texas is lucky to have you and so are all of its citizens.

Judge Boyd, not sure how i came across your channel, but I have to say, you and I share the same sentiment when people call their children “kids”. Kids are baby goats. Your children are not goats!! Thank you for ALWAYS looking out for the children! People may not always see it when you assign certain sentences, you are looking out for the children’s best interest. But I see and hear you!! Loving your content and love your passion of protecting the community. You are an amazing Judge!!!

Did this lady really pick 18 months in state prison over inpatient rehab or felony drug court? I feel like I missed something with this case. It starts around 7:04 takes a break to discuss the options she has been given and then comes back to make the final decision around 25:10? I have no clue how felony drug court works but from the few minutes of research I have done on it I believe it sounds like it lasts for roughly one year, but could be extended depending on the circumstances and it’s a combination of probation with frequent drug testing and intensive outpatient rehab. I could be totally wrong about that but I’m not sure. Anyway, if anybody knows exactly how felony drug court works then I would be curious on those details. I just don’t understand why this woman would opt for 18 months in jail as opposed to having what sounds like a whole lot more freedom but you just have to check in quite a bit with someone or do the inpatient rehab. I just feel like making that choice does not put sobriety very high on the priority list. Hopefully she would be sober in jail, but you never know, but even then she would not be required to do anything else once she got out. All right… I will shut up now.

😢 sorry but I think this jury made the wrong decision and the defense failed this man. This case seemed more about dads ego, control over his ex, jealousy and his need for money. Why was there no therapy for the girl and why would she have her stepmother sneak her over there behind her father's back If this man made her feel sick to her stomach? The defense should have focused on that and on the piss poor investigation.
