You said it all at 6:55. Bless you sir, you help keep me focused. (And your shelves seem even more tightly packed than mine : solidarity! ;)

good morning dereck. my area is close to 100 miles from my son and sister now that i live on the eastern side of california. traffic volume is always a challenge. my beetle is wonderful but not a safe drive in these crazy high winds. so suicide for me to drive to north hollywood. kareem is stuck with thousands of people in his and surrounding areas dealing with no power and may be out for a week. the hollywood hills fires almost out are 7 miles from kareem. nothing is close here. air quality is dangerous to breathe. there are planes that can take ocean water. don't know what solutions can be found but many are not surrendering to this event. my contribution is to not live in fear over anyone. not worried about my son or others. each must handle their situation. loss of life, stuff and service convenience sucks but we have to be strong and choose to live. love you

Indian Summer is an old fave!❤

I only have three Neon albums, Indian Summer, Dando Shaft, and Tonton Macoute. My copy of Tonton Macoute is the UK pressing, the other two are American, with that flimsy Dynaflex vinyl. I only have Spring as a CD reissue as of course the original vinyl is so expensive, and has been like even in the 1990s when I was first made aware of them. I'd also love to have an original of the Raw Material album but when one shows up on Discogs it's always in the four digit price range.

We live in the Eagle Rock area, in between Glendale and Pasadena. Air quality has been really bad and the automated alerts system has been full of errors. Altadena (Eaton Fire) is close to us and we have many friends who have lost their homes due to the fire. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers. 🙏✌️

Anyone know anything about Bill Fay? Recently discovered his "Time of the Last Persecution". '70's singer-songwriter stuff. Really good, a little dark. Appreciate any info.

Dereck, I hope you are well. I've been watching your videos for many years. I remember in the past people would send in a physical copy of their own music and you would listen. Do you still do this?
@dereckvon4 күн бұрын
I only encourage it if you know it's good.

@dereckvon I believe you will like it. Is there a PO Box or a certain address?
Hey Dereck, do you like anything by Kristin Hersh and Throwing Muses? I see the band is putting new material out. I'm a big fan of her unique sounding vocals and guitar playing style.

Turns out James’ home was intact , he thought he did because they told him, every house around him got burned except his, quite a miracle

James Woods , an interesting guy. Ostracized from Hollywood over his politics.. . is really something , James also went to MIT is extremely intelligent. James sued a guy who was anonymous on Twitter for calling him a coke head which if you look at old videos of James, he kinda acts like one , He ended up suing the guy and the guy killed himself.

Hi Dereck. Greetings from Argentina. I wanted to recommend you a band from my country, from the province of Entre rios: Los siquicos litoraleños. Check them out...

I don't like New Years and don't understand the hype. If things were getting better, that would be one thing. Every thing now is so dysfunctional and full of greed. If things were right Cali would have used money to build desalination plants long ago to solve some water issues, but no. We live in a warped Twilight Zone reality.
